Can't wait! :clappurple:
Gracie says:

"SO, are you coming? Huh?"
I have family in Thorold I haven't seen in a long time. Hmmm....
We'll be there. :)
This one is close for me.

Hopefully we'll see a lot of the members from the north east that cannot get out to St. Louis for Sheepiepalooza.
There shouldn't be any member from New York state that doesn't go. You're just a few hours away.

And will our fearless leader make it?
20 hours for me still... ug. I never drove such a distance. Furthest I have driven is to the city; 1 hour. I wish my sister wasn't allergic to dogs! My Dad and sister both. Hate it! Guess I must count my lucky stars I am not as well.
Monica told me about this event possibility, after sheepie palooza. AND we talked about coming together. I really hope to come. I better put in for vacation NOW. Don't know how far it is from Minnesota. Guess I'll have to find out, huh?
We are so excited to be able to attend!!! :excited: It's marked off on our calendar  :

:clappurple: :clappurple: A huge thanks to all who have worked so hard to make this a reality :clappurple: :clappurple:

I can't wait to go! Sounds great! Thanks for all the hard work you all did to put this together!

:yay: :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay:

Cindy
We are so excited!! :cheer: :cheer:
Yay! Can't wait :-)
I was wondering when this was going to how up.

Its going to be a 12+hour trip and I am so hoping to be there. It may be minus dh who wants to go to the Indy 500 which is I think the same weekend.

I'm reserving my vacation spot now though.
Oh, this sounds fun. What's the closest airport to fly into?

I'm guessing Buffalo, NY?
I REALLY want to come...
We went to Niagara once while driving out for daughter Lisa's graduation in NY and just loved the area. And to see all my OES buddies!!

However, the distance (about 1000 miles one way), lack of a passport, and the fact that my local KC's dog show (only a 30 minute drive from my house) is the SAME weekend....means it's probably not going to happen :(
Oh yeah...passport...gotta get one of those.
Yes, you will need a passport.
If you expedite it, you can get it in about 3 weeks.
Passports you can get at your local post office. They take the picture and everything! NICE
What paperwork is required for the dog? Can dogs have passports? I know that sounds silly, but can they? What a great idea that is!!!! :cheer: :cheer:   Seriously, what is necessary? I'd hate to get stopped at the border.

About the post office and passports - that is only at some of them, and only the larger ones.
None of the smaller offices in smaller towns by me have that option. However in Mankato (population about 40,000), they do offer passports at the main Post Office. (I called my sister in law - she's a Postmaster :D )

No passports for dogs, but there are health record requirements. I have no idea what they are now, but I'm sure it's listed online or if you call them. There may be a health exam component too, besides just having current vaccination records. We actually have that as a law for interstate travel here in the US (needing a current exam - there's a specific form), but it is rarely enforced. We do use it for our bassets in BBR when they cross state lines. Just trying to be compliant!
[Just a quick note:]

We will be asking you to submit a copy of your dog's current vaccination certificate as we are visiting an active farm and a city leash-free dog park.

Buffalo-Niagara International Airport (IATA: BUF) in Buffalo, New York is about a 45-minute drive away. Hamilton John C. Munro International Airport (IATA: YHM) in Hamilton, Ontario is about a 75-minute drive away. Toronto Pearson International Airport (IATA: YYZ) in Toronto is about a 1 1/2-hour drive away.
Get your passport pics at Walgreen's. Go here for the necessary forms and instructions: http://travel.state.gov/passport/get/fi ... t_830.html

If you want to do this via the post office, call first. Podunck post offices do not do passports. Above all, do not wait til the last minute.
Below are the current regulation for US citizens entering Canada. I've also included the information for traveling with a dog.

This information comes directly from Canadian Immigration.

As a separate issue, make sure you travel with your dog food in the original bag. Dog food imported into Canada from the USA must be made in the USA, otherwise it is subject to confiscation and disposal.

It really is not difficult for US citizens to travel to Canada. Also, please note if you fly into Buffalo and rent a car, make sure to let the car rental company you will be taking the car into Canada. Different rates and insurance regulations can apply for these types of rentals.

Happy travels!
Kathie (PS sorry the post is so long, but it is verbatim from the Canadians.

To visit Canada, you must:
• have a valid travel document, such as a passport;
• be in good health;
• satisfy an immigration officer that you have ties, such as a job, home and family, that will take you back to your country of origin;
• satisfy an immigration officer that you will leave Canada at the end of your visit; and
• have enough money for your stay. The amount of money you will need can vary with the circumstances of the visit, how long you will stay and whether you will stay in a hotel or with friends or relatives. For more information, ask the Canadian visa office in your country or region.
You may also need:
• a Temporary Resident Visa, depending on your citizenship (see Visas and exemptions below)
• a medical examination; and
• a letter of invitation from someone who lives in Canada.
Travel documents
Transport companies, such as airlines, must ensure you have proper, valid travel documents when you enter Canada. If you do not have the proper documents, you may be delayed or denied boarding.
Visitor Visa Exemptions
Many people do not require a visa to visit Canada. These include:
• citizens of Andorra, Antigua and Barbuda, Australia, Austria, Bahamas, Barbados, Belgium, Brunei, Croatia, Cyprus, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Israel (National Passport holders only), Italy, Japan, Korea (Republic of), Latvia (Republic of), Lithuania, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Malta, Monaco, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Papua New Guinea, Poland, Portugal, St. Kitts and Nevis, San Marino, Singapore, Slovakia, Solomon Islands, Spain, Sweden, Slovenia, Switzerland, United States, and Western Samoa;
• persons lawfully admitted to the United States for permanent residence who are in possession of their alien registration card (Green card) or can provide other evidence of permanent residence;
• British citizens and British Overseas Citizens who are re-admissible to the United Kingdom;
• citizens of British dependent territories who derive their citizenship through birth, descent, registration or naturalization in one of the British dependent territories of Anguilla, Bermuda, British Virgin Islands, Cayman Islands, Falkland Islands, Gibraltar, Montserrat, Pitcairn, St. Helena or the Turks and Caicos Islands;
• persons holding a British National (Overseas) Passport issued by the Government of the United Kingdom to persons born, naturalized or registered in Hong Kong;
• British subjects who hold a passport issued by the United Kingdom and who have the “right of abode” there
• persons holding a valid and subsisting Special Administrative Region passport issued by the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People’s Republic of China;
• persons holding passports or travel documents issued by the Holy See;
• persons holding an ordinary passport issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Taiwan that includes their personal identification number.

Visiting Canada: Arriving
When you arrive in Canada, you will be greeted by an officer of the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA). The CBSA is responsible for protecting the borders and points of entry to Canada. Find out more information about the CBSA.
The officer will ask to see your passport or travel documents. If you are seeking a Parent and Grandparent Super Visa, you will have additional documents to present to the officer. Make sure that you have them with you, and that they are not packed in your luggage. This will speed up your entry to Canada.
Even if you do not need a visa to enter Canada, the officer will ask you a few questions. The officer will confirm that you meet the requirements for admission to Canada. This should only take a few minutes.
You will not be allowed into Canada if you give false or incomplete information, or if you do not satisfy the officer that you are eligible for entry into Canada. You will also have to satisfy the officer that you will leave Canada at the end of your authorized stay in Canada.
The Government of Canada will never ask you to deposit money into a personal bank account or to transfer money through a specific company. However, in some cases, an immigration officer at the Canadian port of entry can require you to post a bond in form of a cash deposit to ensure that you comply with certain terms and conditions during your visit to Canada (i.e. leaving Canada when your approved period of stay is over).
If a bond in the form of a cash deposit is required, the officer fixes the deposit amount based on your financial resources and other conditions set out in Canada’s Immigration and Refugee Protection Regulations.
Children under the age of 18 should have valid identification with them. If you are travelling with a child and you are not the child’s parent or guardian, you should have a letter from the child’s parent or guardian authorizing entry into Canada. If you are the child’s only guardian, you should have documents to show there is no other guardian. For example, a birth certificate that does not identify the father would be suitable.
The officer will stamp your passport or let you know how long you can stay in Canada. The period is usually six months. In some cases, the officer may limit this period to cover only the intended purpose of your visit. Ask questions if you are unsure about anything.
If you violate the conditions of your visa, you will be asked to leave Canada. Most people asked to leave Canada have the right to an impartial hearing to review the decision.

Here is what YOUR DOG will need
Pet dogs can enter Canada for any period of time without quarantine from any country. Canada’s entry requirements take into further consideration the rabies status of the country of origin. And no, the US is not a country that Canada recognizes as being rabies free.
So basically, you need proof that all vaccinations are up to date, and by vaccinations I mean rabies. Here is the official take on the required proof:
Domestic or pet dogs may enter Canada if accompanied by an original valid rabies vaccination certificate, which is issued by a licensed veterinarian (a veterinarian who is licensed to practice veterinary medicine in the country of origin) in English or French and which clearly identifies the dogs and states that they are currently vaccinated against rabies.
This certificate should identify the animal as in breed, color, weight, etc., and indicate the name of the licensed rabies vaccine used (trade name), including serial number and duration of validity (up to three years). Please note that if the duration of validity is not indicated on the certificate, the vaccine will be considered to be valid for one year.
There is no waiting period imposed between the time your dog is vaccinated for rabies and the time she enters Canada.
Note that a rabies vaccination or certification is not required if your dog is less than three months of age.
Traveling though Ontario
The Province of Ontario has an ugly BSL that grants police or animal control officers sweeping powers. This includes search and seizure of a dog deemed to be a “pit bull type” based on visual inspection. If the dog is, in fact, judged to be a pit bull type, the dog will be euthanized – even though it may not have broken any other law.
There are no exceptions for tourists traveling with their pets. Having papers to prove your dog’s pedigree could make all the difference.
Keep in mind, this is all the technical small print, crossing the border will likely involve just showing your passport and a "have a nice visit".
Something to keep your eye on when booking your hotels. Keep your eye on Groupon and TeamBuy. Today there is one for Niagara looks like it ends in February but there is usually something. I use both websites all the time. Great to get your hotel half price or even less.

We have a hotel reserved, with a terrific rate, so don't book anything yet, wait for further information from Barb. Part of the fun is all staying in the same place and just hanging out.
ah sorry. That is good and would be more fun :)
:wag: Hotel information for Sheepdog Shindig 2013 has now been emailed
to everyone that has submitted their email addresses. :wag:

If you are interested in attending or did not receive the information, please send your email address to: oes.sos@hotmail.com
Ohhhhh this sounds so much fun. Although I think I may need to decline as I will be in Holland attending the OES Euro Show around the same time without the dogs.

I hope you all have fun and learn, laugh and grow together. I also hope the ideas or thoughts are shared on the board after the event, so those that couldnt attend can share in the fun....

Thank you for organising - these events take time, dedication and patience (speaking from experience :) )
I sent my info just a little while ago.
I don't know yet if Zeke will be attending with me.
Cool thing about Michigan, they offer an "Enhanced Driver's License" which takes the place of a passport if you are traveling to Canada or Mexico.
I just sent my e-mail address. Certainly hope I can attend. Sounds like a ball!! Just in case, anyone want to 'carpool' from Minnesota?

40 rooms booked already! :cheer: :cheer:
I have been using the toll free number on the website and have not been able to get through to a booking agent this weekend. Hopefully tomorrow :crossed:

That number is 1-877-225-8664.
I used the 1-905-641-4435 and spoke to a lovely young woman. I never understand phone systems and why one would connect me with a person while the other does not. We are arriving on the Tuesday before. The prior Monday is a holiday weekend in Canada so we figured we would chill out at home (and groom the girls) and then drive there on the Tuesday. The rate is higher for the days before ($120 I think) but that is ok, it will be a little vacation for us and we can pre-taste some wine!! If anyone gets there earlier, we will be in Suite 400.

Oh, and as an added bonus, you get a two room suite, so I can ship snoring David off to the other room!

Thanks Kim, I'll try that one right now. The recording said that they are available 7 days a week, 24 hrs a day. Must be a long break
We plan to get there early also. We will be there on Wednesday :clappurple:
The college apologies but unfortunately the toll free number is not working properly. The IT department will look into it tomorrow. Seems they moved their phone equipment over the holidays and no one thought to test it. Hopefully they will get this straightened out tomorrow. :crossed:

Just booked us!!!!! The reservationist said that she unplugged the toll free line, and has not been able to reconnect it this weekend. Maintenance will repair it on Monday.

So excited and ready to go, NOW!!!! It will be a long winter :(
I wish we had something like that here in the UK :(

Hope you all have fun! :D :D :D Cant wait for pictures
We are booked! We are arriving on Tuesday! :cheer:
I got my email confirmation yesterday. They are honoring our price for the extra days. I'll be arriving in the evening on Wednesday! :cheer:

I'd like to do some sightseeing on Thursday. I've always wanted to go on the Maid of the Mist and I see there is a behind the falls area to check out.

hmmmmm.....I might need a Teddy sitter for this..... :lmt:

The Maid of the Mist is definitely worth doing. I was trying to get the Parks personnel to allow us to bring the dogs on the walk behind the falls but due to the stairs they have denied the dogs access :(

There will be lots of information regarding all the attractions in Niagara included in your Welcome Bags when you check into the hotel.
Since David and I will also be there on Tuesday, maybe on Wednesday/Thursday we can puppy sit for some of you who want to do the Maid of the Mist. You can just park us on a park bench at the Falls then go on your tour. It is about half an hour long. Then we can go for a stroll along the Falls and get stopped every five seconds by tourists, which will be fun. Or take a few hours in the morning and go off to the Falls and we can hang out with the puppies. The chance to steal Charm AND Teddy............ :sidestep:
OMG!!!!!!!!

I just realized that I have the chance to steal Charm, Teddy AND Mr. Murphy!!!!! David, we need to buy a van. Now. :excited: :excited: :excited: :excited:

No one would know, as long as we only took two out at a time! Most people can't tell the difference between our 3 girls. Even my own mother can't, but, mind you, she can't tell the difference between me and my five siblings. My real problem is that David has been pining a bit for a boy, so having him around Teddy and Murphy could be dangerous. We need to finally sell out to those condo developers and buy a small hobby farm.

That is one episode I would watch of a hoarders reality show :high5:
Made our hotel reservation last night. We won't get there until Friday, but are counting down the days!!
Kim, I have lots of room in the house and a new bigger vehicle. We could work out a deal where we puppy nap our favorite puppies and than rotate them better our houses. This way we can stay within the by-laws and have some of the cutiest sheepies all to ourselves. This plan can really work.
Anyone traveling from Nova Scotia? We could carpool. If I do go I would only bring Langley. So there is room.

You guys are on to me. I am not as sneaky as I thought!
I just made our reservations.
I'm hoping to get in Thursday afternoon, around 4 PM.

Can't wait to see everyone!!
Well, I'm not so sure we're going to be able to go. Me and Jacob are still fighting over when our wedding will be, and I'm thinking sometime in May, I was actually really considering the 29th. I really wanted to go earlier in May, but Jacob is still stuck on June, so I dunno... Hopefully everything will work out so we can be there!
Just have your wedding in June so you can come to the Shindig.
CamVal1 wrote:

June is birthday season in Jacob's family, which is why I wanted to avoid that month. Maybe I can get Jacob on board for May 11th, that's what I wanted in the first place and that would put a few weeks between that and the shindig.
Okay, I have put my foot down, WE ARE COMING TO CANADA!!!!!!!!!!!! :excited: :excited: :yay: :yay:

I even took a couple minutes to figure out how I'm going to drive in Canada with a car that doesn't have kilometers on the speedometer. Anything else I should really know about coming to Canada? I read I need proof of rabies vaccinations for the dogs.

We are also going to require proof of vaccinations for all the events which will be submitted upon registration. Have you joined the Sheepdog Shindig Facebook page?
I have joined now! Which vaccinations will I be needing proof of?

:cheer: :cheer: You should be fine with 65 on the highways, 40 in cities, 30 on smaller residential streets.
Thanks David! That will help. Since we know 100km is about 60mph and Jacob is good at math, he can be my converter if I'm not sure :D
Just multiply the sign by 6 (and drop the last 0) and it'll give you a great idea of what speed is legal. examples:

100 * 6 = 60

90 * 6 = 54

50 * 6 = 30

It's really times .62 but it's close enough. :D
Just match your speed to everybody else's.

I remember years ago when a few of us went to the Detroit car show. It's quicker to cut thru Canada to get to Detroit if you're coming from the north east.
There's a pretty desolate strip of the 401 along the route and my buddy just buried it for what had to be at least an hour or more.
Syracuse to Detroit via Canada should take about 6 hours. I think we did it something like 4.5 to 5 hours.
The event is barely in Canada anyway so you won't need to worry about it a whole lot....
Jade lives in Michigan.
She'll probably be going thru Detroit/Windsor, along the 401, to the 403, to the 405, into Niagara Falls.

I'm coming from Michigan, so I'll have a few hours of Canada driving there and back. Mark's right, I'm coming in through Windsor and following the route he mentioned.

Does the matching my speed to everyone else thing apply when there are people flying along like you were?
Oh, of course... I think I was looking at your post and seeing NY lol

We should just get Mark to rent a big sheepie bus and take you all there. You would get there in no time!!

Me too :D lol although I have to focus on not passing too many cars... cops tend to notice that.

I hate the 401, up here anyway, between London and Windsor it's not as bad. I LOVE the 407 and usually take that as far as it goes before I have to jump on the QEW if I'm going to Niagara. Never any traffic on it (because it's a toll highway and Canadians are cheap lol) so most people fly on that one going between 120-140 km.
Wish I didn't live so far :( bla sounds like so much fun. Would be great to meet all the sheepies and there peeps.

I never take that because I never quite understand where the heck it goes. If I am going from Welland to Ottawa I take the 401 through Toronto. I always thought the 407 went north.

According to google maps, taking the 401/qew from Lindsay to Welland is 263kms and should take 2 hrs 51 mins. It says taking the 407/qew is 264 kms and should take 3 hrs 2 mins. However, because there is never any traffic, at all, and you can easily go 130-140 most of the way I've done it in 1 hour 45 mins, usually takes 2 hours and a bit though.
have a great time! Love the name of the gathering :)
I'm thinking we may try and come. We have a working weekend in San Jose, California the weekend prior, so I'm not 100% sure when we'd be able to get in
I would love to be there! Maybe I will fly. Will think about it. The sheepies dont want me to go without them.
All registration forms have now been emailed to everyone that has submitted their email address. The forms can also be found on the Sheepdog Shindig 2013 page. I would post them here but can't figure out how! 8O
Barb,
I think you can post documents the same way you post pictures.
At least that's what I've done when I've posted PDFs.
Maybe Ron will chime in.
I have a question! Since me and Jacob are only 19, are we even allowed to do the wine tastings? :lmt:

Lucky for you, 19 is the drinking age in Ontario (and most of Canada)! 18 in Quebec, Manitoba, Alberta.

Woo! 8)
We have it in our calendar, by May I should be comfortable enough to drive the bus 1,500 miles from Texas.

Can anyone recommend an RV park close to the shindig?
Welcome to the Shindig!

We will be happy to research some RV parks for you! Just so you know that if you did want to stay with the group at the college campus there is plenty of parking for your RV but unfortunately no RV hookups.
Thanks Mark!

Here's my attempt at posting the forms....if it doesn't work they are under "Other Events"

A sneak peek of the dog bandanas for the Shindig.

and the tshirts

I have a question about bringing in dog food to Canada. I read that it has to be in it's original package. That's fine, but I hope it doesn't have to be unopened. I would hate to have to lug a 28 pound bag of food with! Any issues with coming back into the states with it?

I also have a question about bringing in alcohol into Canada or taking some back into the states. Any limits on the amount either way?

Thanks,
Cindy
Just reread this whole thread, and am getting more and more excited!!!

AND, its only 57 more days till we leave..60 days till the official start :yay: :excited:

There is a long list of restrictions on the books, but whether they actually get enforced or not is a crapshoot. Both times to sheepiepalooze we had opened dog food and dog food in tupperware containers, technically not allowed, but they didn't care. I don't know how it is for booze going home to the US. Going home to Canada we had a 2 bottle/person max duty-free. The first sheepiepalooza I had to pay duty on the extra booze I brought home. Last year, I was bringing home more booze, and the guard waved us through. Note I was honest about declaring everything.
Thanks David. Maybe I'll just have the empty bag with and keep the food in ziplock bags like I usually do for travel. And I'll bring the original copy of his rabies vaccine which is for 3 years.

Cindy
Ok...I'm not late...yet. We ARE coming. I'm just not sure what I need to fill out and who I need to call to register...HELP!!!!
Pam, glad to hear you are coming. The forms are in this post above and send a message to Barb (Oakley's Mom) letting her know your coming. Forms are due by April 1st.

Looking forward to the Shindig

Maybe you can help David demo some agility!!
My Vet told me I need a Heath Certificate to cross the border. Its not a problem, I pick in up next week at a cost of $18.90.

Any other U.S. people hear about or have to do this or is he(vet) just being cautious.
I thought we just needed proof of rabies shots? Should I get a health certificate?

Cindy
I was sure proof of rabies was all that was needed. Keep in mind, both times we've been to Sheepiepalooza, no one ever asked us about any of that, crossing both directions.
Thanks David!

Cindy
I went to the Canadian Govt. website, and it said if you were traveling with your dog, you just needed the rabies cert. If your dog is flying on it's own, it needs the health cert.

My vet also thought I'd need a health cert., so I'm going to call the US Dept. of Agriculture tomorrow and ask, as per her advice.
Our vet said we need a health certificate along with the vaccine information.

Our vet said that both are also recommended for travel between states, but I have never worried about that 8). It only came up this past holiday season when I was asking about anti-anxiety meds for Izzie.

Since there is a charge for the health certificate--I suspect that most vets are going to say that yes- one is needed. I haven't asked my vet but will call tomorrow just to see what they say.

Allison if you would post what you find out from the Dept. of Agriculture --would be appreciated :)
Re: health certificates - they are legally required for interstate travel. But, most states never enforce it at all. Especially for pets, or people traveling , shows, events, etc. They do tend to crack down on stuff like horses, or livestock though. It's not new, it has been required for many, many years.

I never have gotten one for shows, or when we've taken Stef (llama) to Ia - back to her breeder for getting bred, etc. However it sure COULD be enforced at any time.

Our basset rescue serves MN and WI - and we never got health certs until this past year. In the past dogs went back and forth all the time to foster homes, real homes, etc. We've been paying more in the neighborhood of $8 for them though. I guess every vet office can set their own price.
I'm going with safe and paying the extra. Better safe than get turned away.

Just a note: the vet doesn't get to keep the money...it goes to the government. Well, maybe not all the $, just maybe a little to make up for the trouble of making up the Cert :)

Needing a health certificate to cross State lines seems strange, how many of these poor rescue dogs we have seen who have been in *terrible* health and then moved around to fosters etc?
This is what my vet gave me when I asked for a Health Certificate and Proof of Rabies Vaccination:

Will this be enough?

That should be good, Mark.
It has to say that they examined the dog, etc. Some are much more involved and have a specific form with all the body systems listed, like a checklist/worksheet. But this should be good enough :)
We don't get to go :( :( :(
With all the wedding craziness going on around here, we never got around to getting our enhanced licenses so we could cross the border, and now it's too late. It takes 2-3 weeks for it to come in the mail, and it takes just as long to get a passport, even if you do the expedited one. Boo :(
Hopefully, we will be there next time! We'll have everything straightened out way way way way in advance next time! And there won't be a wedding going on next time, either.
On the bright side, Jacob has those days off of work anyway so we're going to take a little vacation in Ann Arbor with the dogs instead. :)
"Enhanced license"-- what's that??? Do I need a special drivers license?????
Certain states that border Canada offer an "enhanced drivers license". This allows you to cross the border to/from Canada without a passport. The license is only good for vehicle/pedestrian crossings. You can not fly and use an enhanced drivers license. You must have a passport to fly. Of course, you can always use your passport for vehicle/pedestrian crossings.

Hope this answers your question.

Kathie
yes, thanks! I thought I was suddenly going to have to cancel because I didn't have the right kind of license for driving!!!!

That is too bad, I was looking forward to meeting you and your brand new shiny handsome husband! But a little vacation in Ann Arbor sounds lovely too.
We leave in an hour! Bringing some very tired girls, the 5 and a half hour drive will be a great way to catch up on their sleep. Being beautiful must be SO tiring! I can't wait to see you all, and those of you that cannot attend, I will be wishing that you were there! Safe trip everyone.
Have a great time, and drive safe.
Troys sad he won't be there to bartend.

:( post lots of pictures for us
we hope you all have a great time! :)
Forgive me for not reading all 9 pages of posts before asking this; my question may have already been answered. But-- should we bring camp chairs like we do for Sheepie Palooza? Will there be an opportunity or a need to sit outdoors where there isn't seating provided? And what about battery operated fans- I bought one for the last Sheepie Palooza because of the heat and the barbecue at Purina Farms. Think that's something to pack?
Yes Allison--you should bring some chairs. I don't think you will need the fan as the weather forecast is for the high 50's for Sat. & Sunday.

We are here and waiting on all to arrive!!

Safe Travels!
Alison,
Yes to the chairs.

And I don't think you'll need a battery operated fan this weekend. :)
A battery powered heater would be more appropriate. :)

That's what the sheepdogs are for 8)
okay; we leave tomorrow morning- I'm super stressed! I feel like I've forgotten to pack EVERYTHING!!!! ACK!
Allison,
I know what you mean.
What route are you taking to get there?

Today we'll drive to Cincinnati and then stay the night there. Tomorrow we take 75 to 71 to 271 from Ohio into Pennsylvania to 90 into New York, and then 190 into Canada
