Raffle

Our local pet adoption non-profit held a raffle and "Pawtober Fest" last weekend. We got 2 raffle tickets and won with one! We won a free "full groom" at a nearby groomer. I called them mid-week to find when I could bring Dex in. The girl that answered the phone was very cooperative until she asked what type dog he was. When i said full coat Old English Sheepdog she started hemming and hawing and asked me ot wait until she got the owner. The owner was very nice and set us up to bring him in this morning. When we dropped him off she said it would take 3 hours "or a little more." He's been there 4 1/2 hours so far. Last (and first) groomer visit was 7 hours but had him cut down from show coat to about 3". We just wanted him neatened up a little and whites re-whitened. I'll post picutres when we get him back.

BTW, the shop had been recommended by the pet store and training center we use so it was't a blind acceptance.

haha bet they thought what are the odds a Lab or something would win, not the dreaded OES! That is awesome I am glad they didn't back out.

Yes truly Laughing Out Loud!
They did a great job! Had him 5 1/2 hours. It sounded like several people worked on him. They all loved him, said he was very good and knew all about grooming and a grooming table. I tried to tip them but the owner insisted that "it was free and free is free" so refused the tip.

He was so mad at me when I picked him up he walked right past me and went to sniff the shop's little dog, completely ignoring me. This was the longest Winston has ever been without Dex and started getting very needy and odd. When Dex walked in Winston ran to him and jumped on him and whined like he does when my wife has been gone for a long time.

We left shortly after getting Dex home so i wasn't able to get any pictures of his fresh groom. I'll take some tomorrow and if he still looks freshly groomed I will post them.
