Glucosamine and chondrontin

Hello I haven't been here for a while but I hope that everyone is ok and I had to tell you about the tablets that have given me my dog back....

George has suffered with arthritis for a while now. He's still relatively young (5) and so it really upset me when he couldn't do the things he liked doing.

I was giving him glucosamine tablets which helped but then a friend told me about glucosamine and chondrotin chews she was giving her lab.

I got some of the tablets and started to give them to George. Within 3 days he was like a puppy. He is full of beans and loves to play again. It was amazing.

I'm sure many of you will have used them but for anyone who has a dog suffering with arthritis I can't recommend these highly enough. :wag:

Hello Vicki! That's very interesting!
:cheer: Thanks for sharing.
That's wonderful!!!!! I am so happy for your George! :hearts:

:D This made me curious:
I'm more thinking of myself than my dog right now,
got some pain in my knees and my back is not good.
Is it two different tablets?
Or is it glucosamine and chondrotin in the same tablet?
What's the name on the product :?:
It's one tablet and it is just called glucosamine and chondrotin. The tablets I give George are actually for humans. I take them too and they stop aches and pains.

There is more info here http://orthopedics.about.com/cs/supplem ... samine.htm
 Thanks Vicky!
I swear by it for my dogs. The only thing different in mine is it also contains MSM which my vet says the horse people swear by. My 12-1/2 year old girl is showing no signs of slowing down yet. The only thing to remember is it works on joints. As the dogs age, if they develop spondyliosis (arthritis of the spine, particularly the lower spine) this does not help in that area as we are not talking about joints there.
I use it off and on as well. Funny enough I was talking with someone about getting human instead of dog glucosamine and chondrotin. They said what is the difference? I said the price. I have seen it in vet's office going for over $60! I can get the same amount for $12-20 for Time. What gives? Blows my mind Not saying vets are marking it up the manufactures I am guessing. Who knows.
Bailey has been on Osteo-3 for around 5 years or so. We have gradually increased her dose over the years, to 3 tabs in the morning, 2 at night. She is 11 1/2 and has many moments of puppy-like behavior.
I buy it from Amazon, way cheaper than the vet. We had tried human brands, but it didn't work as well for her.
I use the human stuff for my dogs too. Some day I'll have to start taking it for ME too!
I've been using the Nature Made Triple Flex (I get it at Walmart). It's Glucosamine 1500mg, Chondroitin 800mg and MSM 750mg. Bond and Chewie get 1 tab per day. Human dose is 2 tabs per day.
Chewie has been taking this or something similar for 5 yrs.
I take it myself and give it to the boys. I forgot to take it with me on vacation last week and boy could I tell a difference in how I felt by the end of the week. It definitely works!!
