Ok, I must be stupid... Can slime one explain the two dogs with one handler in front of Cindy and Teddy? I've not seen this before and I'm left scratching my head...

Everybody has two! All I know it is extremely cute to see!

Cindy has 2 dogs as well...Teddy and his 1/2 bro James. That is what "brace" is....showing the 2 at one time. Never heard of it myself until Cindy said she was doing it. :D It mostly sounds like a chance for great video bloopers to me 8)
Good job! :)
Well, to be honest, I started watching it, got confused and then distracted by my job, (AAAARRRRHHHHH!!!!!!) then posted what i did before going back to finish viewing. Very curious now... and still scratching my head as to the point of the two dogs. Does look like fun to handle two dogs though not sure I'd be willing to do it in front of a crowd without a LOT of practice.

I've never seen that before.

Great Job Team Teddy, James & Cindy :excited:

Congratulations Teddy, James and Cindy!!!!

That is so darn adorable to see two dogs in the ring.
Fabulous video of the Brace class thanks for posting and congrats too on the placing. Brace classes are awesome, well done team cindy XX The controll of the two Marvelous and they both looked spectacular!!!
I had to ask Cindy what brace was too! I'd never seen it before going to nationals.
I must be really stupid. I thought a brace was a set of twins, born from the same mother with the same set of markings.

Wow cindy! You are such a good handler to manage those two at once! But Teddyand James are true show veterans too.... That is sucha unique way to show... So both dogs combined have to be better thanthe other pairs, huh...

I didnt see you guys in the conformation ring.
Actually, brace is supposed to be 2 dogs of similar size & characteristics, handled together. If you think brace in conformation is good you outta see some of the teams do agility & obedience in brace!
Very nice job Cindy!

Thanks! No we weren't in the ring on wednesday. I was entered in American Bred class on wed. but I couldn't show Teddy. I ended up running him to the vet for his left ear. He had an ear infection that had just cleared up the week before. After his bath tue. morning, I put swimmers ear in his ears as I always do after his bath to dry up any moisture. Well that being mostly alcohol, probably burned and irritated his ear down inside where I couldn't see. He wouldn't let me touch his left ear after I finished grooming him for the ring late wed. morning. I couldn't take him in the ring and tell the judge not to touch his head.

We went to the vet near the show site. She put ointment in his ear and started him on antibiotic's. I felt terrible that it was my fault it happened. She said not to blame myself because there was no way I could see that it was way down in his ear. Doesn't matter, I still felt like a horrible mother. She said it should be better by the next day as the ointment also had lanolin in it and it would help soothe the burning and redness. She was right, it was so much better by the next day and I was able to show him with James in Brace.

I'm so glad I did Brace. It was so much fun but we were the very last class and most people were clearing out and didn't even watch. I'd say they did pretty well together for too young boys and one crazy handler!

Thanks Marilyn! Yes, Teddy and James are half brothers and are very similar. They look great moving together. I wish he would have had us go around the ring more so we could of had more of a run to really show their movement together. The down and back was so short they just got moving and then had to stop.

Cindy - I was thinking the same thing. It's the go around that blows people away ;-)

You did an awesome job, though!

Same for me too! I wish they would have done a full ring gaiting. :(
You did a great job with Teddy and James...and SO happy Teddy was feeling better with his sore ear that you could do it. :)

I've done brace in obedience - it's quite the fun thing. They also offer it in 4-H. My youngest BIL borrowed my German Shepherd Jenny to pair with his German Shorthair Ginger....they sure didn't look alike, but were the same height and both German! Both were wonderful obedience dogs and they won at the MN state show. :go:
Congratulations! You all look great! :clappurple:
