Nationals...for us

We spent from 10:30am to 6:30pm Tuesday at the Nationals... for agility. Randy and I and a bunch of others were helping to set up the rings and the courses. It was COLD and the wind was harsh. It was a brutal day.

Simon got an NQ on JWW for an off course. ALL my fault because I forgot the first rule. Keep your dog on leash until you are at the start line. He was excited and took two jumps before the start. Then I brought him back to the start line...boom...off course. I should have just kept him going from the first jumps. I was really confused and couldn't figure out the off course until between 3 and4am(when I woke up and was thinking) to really remember that.

On the plus side he finished his title(I think thats what its called) in standard with a second place. In that he moves to open(I think).

Today was the rescue parade and Garfunkels turn. He got a bath(after 10pm) last night and a good brushout this morning before we left. Listening to the story's of where and how these dogs ended up in rescue brought tears to my eyes...and many of the people there had tears too. Randy took Gar out there to strut his stuff and I have to say I was proud of my "boys". Randy didn't trip and fall on his face and Gar just barked a few times :)

It was nice to see so many familiar faces and meet new people at something I've never been to before.

Sounds like you guys had a very full, even overwhelming day. But in a good way!
Sounds like an emotionally charged day! Congrats to Simon and Garfunkel!! :clappurple:

Pam, you have come such a long way from the beginning. Good for you for hanging in there.
Congratulations Pam!!!

You and Simon looked great.

BTW my lips are still chapped from the wind at Tuesday's agility trial. :(
I did see Gar in the Rescue parade but never connected with you. Aren't those rescue stories both sad then wonderful at the same time?
 :clappurple: :clappurple:
Pam - you forgot to mention that Simon won High Scoring Novice A dog!!!

And, yes, you can move up to Open in Standard now.

Many, many thanks to Randy for the great musical selection during the agility trial. Made my day!!!

So much fun :-)

Congratulations on Simon's new title! You get to add NAP after his name now. Very cool!

Kristine
You both looked great out there...what a team!!!!

You guys did great, Pam. We had the same false start issue - in FAST Chewie took off when the judge said "OK" - and it's not even our release word!
Congrats on your new title too - and the joy of moving up into Open! And highest scoring Novice A dog. :D :D

I got to see bits of the Rescue Parade while grooming - Gar and Randy looked great :)
Congrats!! I thought you all looked great! :clappurple: :clappurple:
