Bit of a shock

I went to champ show today at darlington. Georgi just cam into season today which did not help. She had a trim from colin & brushed up by Pauline. She came last & this is the fist time this has happened. I don't mind as there are a few things we still need to improve on & she is going into the older group.
1. She had just started her season & found out at the show :( so she was a bit over the place
2. Need to work on the standing also a bit of improvement on the running & thats down to me.

All of these things can be improved on. The thing what bugged me was the cheating by the judge. The bitch that came second in our group was the worst of the bunch & when people who turn up & they know that they are going to do well is wrong in my book. As for the puppy that won was the biggest shock. It was lame could not stand still & so on. The other puppies were a lot better.
How are you going to get people to show like myself who are new & just don't stand a chance ( If myself & the dog was crap on the day I would be the first to hold my hand up). Enough of the rant. Georgi's sister won the bitch section :clappurple:  :cheer: so Pauline & Colin were happy

Thats another reason i gave up showing. Its judges favourite not the best dog.
We showed for fun, bloo loved to yank me round the ring, but then there were the stuck up people who were so into it and pulled there face when they didnt come in the winnings... Weve never won or come 3rd, ive never been jealous, but half the people get sooo jealous. to be honest i got tired of all listening to them people, if i have to go to anothr show im taking ear muffs and a loud whistle.
To me it sounds like the judge picked the dogs that needed a lot of work, maybe to motivate them to do better?
I wouldnt feel down about it, you and Georgi have come so far, shes brilliant when shes in the right frame of mind.
Well done to you all xxx
For every bad judge there is a good one, you may think favourtismn but as you go along each sector outways each other.

Your a newbie to showing, big suggestion, each show you go to, keep a book, list the show, judge, results and over the years it is worth itself in gold

Like anything in a competitive field always dodgy ones and ones you admire. Again your only a newbie, showing dogs can at times be dis-heartening, so can anything that involves competition and not agreeing with a judges choice, such is life, if they all thought the same then life in the showring would not be worth doing.

Congrat to your breeders on their girl and her wonderfull day.

You have to get the right attitude, for every disappointment, something special is around the corner!!! Otherwise you wont last in the show scene.

Showing a bitch in season even though just in, HARD, learnt that years ago, mine were either Hypo/ crazy and on the otherside of the coin others were like big slugs. Been to a show and like you realised just started and withdrawn them due to not worth the effort at the show!!!! Others I have known over the years have no problems with bitches at the start of there heat, mine have been at both ends of the extreme and quite happy to if I have missed them being in when I go to a show, happy to leave it well alone till all finished.

Your girl is lovely, live, learn and most important ENJOY, anything on top of that as you are progessing is a bonus. Dont take it so seriously or the dissappointment will get to you  What should be a priority is you are both enjoying the adventure/learning/experience and anything on top of that is a bonus as far as shows are concerned. Fun and enjoyment is a priority or you should not be doing it if it is getting to you as first and foremost it should be between you and your dog a learning and adventure. Very hard when your up against breeders, long time owners & handlers of OES and your a newbie. If the enthusiasm is there you will prevail to great heights!!!
