Hi from Queensland Australia

For want of a username nobody had taken yet, I'm registered in my daughter's name, Kallindy Rose. I'm actually Lynette.
Interested in finding out how everyone else is coping with sheepdogs with tails since the tail docking law started. I swear our sheepdog with a tail is a hazard! I can't believe she hasn't broken it yet, it's only a matter of time. She's bruised everyone's legs with it. She's about 3 years old and we have had sheepdogs all our married life. For me, even longer, I got my first one when I was 13.
This is our first with a tail.
Are the laws the same in every country now? Do they all have tails? Anyone else prefer hem without or shall I raise the ire of tail-lovers? :wag: :wag:

Welcome aboard!

Still tailless in US. Happy puppy to have such an energetic tail. Consider those bruised "love taps."

I've had many huge tails (Great Pyrenees, Newfounland and St. Bernard) along with tailless sheepdogs......of course I've never had a coffee table! Just too many targets. If tails didn't clear the table, some K9 would use the furniture as a dance floor. Wall splats after rain, OK. Only tail now is Harry's (an OES mix) and he minds it well when in the house.
Hi and welcome!!

I have a friend who lives in Queensland - Westbrook. She lived in the US for several years, and brought her border collie that she got here back with her. They are part of the Australian national agility team...so we are very proud of them!

I have other breeds with tails - basset and lab - but no tail on the OES, thank goodness!
Welcome and please share photos and stories. :)
Welcome from Florida, USA! No tails here. I have one OES, Violet and 2 Aussie Shepherds, no tails as well, but lots of wigglebums.
Welcome from Minnesota, USA!!!!! No OES tails at my house either. Having grown up with St. Bernards with powerful tails, 6 OES's without. (no, not all at once :) ) Then adopting a rescue Golden Retriever, Abbey, I got another powerful happy tail! Everything off the coffee table AND lots more hair too.
I had no idea there was a tail docking law anywhere :?
Again, WELCOME!! :clappurple: :clappurple: :clappurple:
Hi and welcome from UK England
Welcome from Tennessee--we don't have tails at our house either.
Hi welcome from Illinois, USA! Never had an OES with a tail. I prefer the look of the no tail and one less appendage to brush! 8O

Welcome from Ottawa, Canada. We are usually tailless here in Canada but a few OES have tails. I am in the no-tail group, but with or without who can resist an OES.
Welcome to our furry little corner of the web from Boston, Massachusetts!

I prefer them tailless, but I've only had tailless sheepies! :D
