Anyone going to OES Club 125th Anniversary Championship Show

125th Anniversary Championship Show

Sat 3rd & Sun 4th August 2013

I realise that this may seem a long way off but I felt that I should start to announce a date for your diary next year 2013. As you are aware this will be The Old English Sheepdog Club's 125th Year and it is the clubs intention to hold a special weekend on the 3rd and 4th August. Our venue for this special show will be Alexandra House, Wroughton, nr Swindon
This is a super venue with over 20 acres of outside area for our dogs. If we are unfortunately to have bad weather, judging will be held indoors but obviously it is hoped for good weather.

We will be holding a special seminar on the Saturday afternoon, with a prominent veterinary surgeon who specialises in Breeding/Whelping. There will be a Dinner & Dance in the evening.

Sunday will see our Championship show with a BBQ and awards ceremony after the show. There will also be other attractions on the Sunday - still to be confirmed.

There is a swimming pool, sauna, steam room and gym. The hotel have provisionally booked all of the hotel for us but it will be on a 'first come, first served' basis.

The Hotel has agreed to allow dogs into the hotel, but please, we would ask that you bring cages to to put your dogs in when left in the bedrooms on their own. As you can appreciate, to find a hotel that will allow dogs is very difficult.

Caravans and mobile homes will be allowed to park at the venue. There will be a small charge per night for this, which can be paid with the entry for the show.

Reservations should be made to the Hotel direct (Tel: 01793 819000), but I would appreciate it if those booking the hotel could also inform me as I need to keep a record of how many rooms have been booked at the hotel. Exhibitors need to inform the hotel so that rooms on the ground floor can be reserved.

Dinner / Dance and BBQ tickets will be booked with the club.

Wow, that sounds like a blast! So wish I could go.

Love the logo <?> Who designed it? Absolutely stunning and highly original.

Kristine
It's by Arnfinn Olsen.
It's awesome!
So wish i had a dog thats laid back and loves the show ring, but im afraid our days are over. Bloos an agility freak :D
I have tried at ringcraft again, but my trainer said you either do showing or agility not both...so we chose agility as its funner for us both, and bloos a loonatic in the ring lol

I thought the same thing, what a great logo. :wag:
Bit odd that someone has added a bit to my title ?
I think the addition to the title was so your post will have a better
chance of coming up when someone Googles/searches using a
regular search engine.

Well, with all due respect to your trainer, I've always done both. They are by no means mutually exclusive.

Thanks 6girls & agree with Kristine on this Sam. You can do both & he would learn a lot. When you go to shows 99 % of the dogs are great together but you get the odd woof at each other & he would learn a lot. Use his speed agility & then control and being calm in the show ring

That's true, and simply to help people looking at the forum. The more descriptive the title/subject the better.

The current title is fairly self explanatory while "Anyone going" (or "Anyone going to this") could be about anything. So please be descriptive in your subjects! :D
