My New friend

Hi all I just got my new friend, we had to drive almost 400 miles one way to pick him up due to it being the closest breeder who had puppies. She refused to ship him which I liked right off the bat so me and the wife went ahead and made a road trip (long Over due I might add) to get him. Weve had him home for almost a month now and we really have fallen in love with him. Yeah theres those moments when we ask our selves what were we thinking but as time goes it does get better. We go to the park near the house at least once a day (sometimes more). I cant believe how much attention he gets by the rest of the family and by onlookers at the park. I also cant believe how much ignorance there is about the breed in general, I have found that educating those that dont know anything about sheep dogs goes along with owning such a breed. Its really to bad they are so rare here in St Louis. :wag:

OK newbie, first off welcome to the community!!!

Secondly, where are the photos of this new found friend? We really need photos, especially of the puppies!

And, being from the St. Louis area, you're sure to meet some of our more regular members as there are several who live in and around town.

Again, welcome!

Vance, Jen, Zoey and Caitlyn

Well, that's just strange, I've been to St. Louis a couple of times and it seems I can't take three steps without tripping over three sheepies!!!

All pictures from St. Louis:

:D :D :D
Welcome Hank!

And trust us when we say that St. Louis has a LOT of sheepdogs.
If you were to ask me what one city has the most sheepdogs (based on the members of this board), I would pick St. Louis hands down.

Gotta get the crew from the Lou to check in here.
Welcome from Florida!

Funny! I've only been there twice and that's been my experience as well! 8O :twitch:

And next October (2013) OES from all over the country will descend upon St Louis (OK, Purina Farms) for the annual National Specialty....show, herding, agility, obedience, rally, therapy and rescue OES and all kinds of cross-overs of the aforementioned. It's going to get very, very hairy. Be very afraid... 8O :twitch: :cow:

Congratulations on your newest addition :-)

Kristine
