Playing with Aussies

My neighbor has two, male and female, Austrialian Shepards, ages 5 months and 9 months. They want so bad to play with my guys. I have a very large fenced in yard so they could all run and play but are they still too young to play with the "big" guys? My OES are male, 110 pounds, age 5 and female, 85 pounds, turning four ( that's years) this week. Think we should wait until the Aussies are older? BTW, all are nuetered and/or spayed so no chance of "accidents"!

My guys play with aussies, Samoyeds (50#) and my granddog Poppy - a 35 pound Australian Cattle Dog.
They all have a very physical play style.
Chewie also has a large female Rottie play buddy too - her human owns The Paw where I teach classes.
There is a border collie, Roscoe, who lives behind us and Roscoe has been known to jump the fence to play with Bentley and Zoey on many occasions. At first I was concerned as Bentley was very dog-aggressive, but he never had a problem with Roscoe. Bentley, Zoey and Roscoe would run and play for hours on end and then Roscoe would jump the fence and go home. It was really kinda fun to watch. Roscoe wasn't neutered, but ours were neutered/spayed.

Now though, with Caitlyn being intact, Roscoe is not allowed in the yard and his Dad knows it and honors our request.

It's time for supervised play. I wouldn't leave them alone, but playing with adults is part of the learning process. Your big guys will quickly learn what they can and cannot do without hurting the small fry. Let them play! .........and take a lot of pictures!
Eevee is growing up playing with an Aussie, and she does just fine. She has also played with an chihuahua/pug mix, and she did fine with her too. Eevee has always been good at adjusting her play depending on the size of the other dog. Just be sure to supervise playtime and you all should be fine!
Our Ozzie (4 yr old) plays with most Aussies he encounters...
