New situation at work

I was at work last night (for those of you that don't know I am a caregiver) I got stuck on grave yards working at the companys group home.

I've worked for the company for 5 1/2 yrs and though I saw it all. Til last night.

I was outside smoking with a coworker and something darted across the livingroom floor.
I asked my coworker "did you see that?!!!"
nope

So the person that relived my coworker I made go on a whatever it was hunt. Couldnt find it. Now all these new people think Im crazy and seeing things.

2 hrs later it runs underneath my coworkers chair. I scream, jump up on the chair and yell "there it is!! I told you im not crazy!!!"

Then proceeds 20 minutes of running around the facility with garbage cans trying to catch it.
Flushing it out of corners, chasing it around. We finally caught it.

It was a field mouse. Thats the first time I've ever had to catch a mouse at work. I guess there is a first time for everything.

Sounds like an exciting day at work!
The mousie was probably scareder than you were! Maybe the group home needs a cat to keep the mouse population away.

The group home does have a cat. The cat is severely overweight and useless when it comes to hunting. It looked at the mouse and then looked at us, like "you guys can take care of it."

I dont know about it being scareder than we were. I almost peed myself.
Thata better than finding several dead next to your chair in your office. That happened to me a couple of years ago.

Yeah, I really don't have a problem with mice, until they get inside! Nasty things get in drawers, yucky.
Surprised at a field mouse coming inside, nothing outside for it to eat I guess?
Good job catching the little bugger. I hate them too. Being on a farm and rural, they always try to migrate inside in the fall when it gets cold out. Can't say I blame them...but I don't share my house with them!
We do have a good mouser cat. But the last one we had last winter ended up heading for Chewie's porch - and Chewie was there and grabbed it!!! :D :D He sure put the cat and the rat terrier to shame!

And I have one to beat the mouse. Yesterday I stopped at my usual salon to get a pedicure (while my windshield was getting replaced at Honda). They had a guest...a little brown bat was hanging from one of the ceiling tiles!! 8O
Yet another title for Chewie! Mouser!

Awww, a bat. Flying rodent yeah, but still kinda cute.
