Cross your fingers and blow OES kisses my way!!

I'm going to the hospital at 11 a.m. because I think the unexpected has happened.

Found out once we got married Apr 20th that I should be able to handle a pregnancy. A little history on me: I have 1 kidney, other is not there, and I have kidney problems with the 1 I have. ...not to mention a list of other health problems (w/my ovaries).

Well, like any newly married couple ...we had fun at home... ;) ...the very next day. Turns out, I was also ovulating. Clear Blue says I'm pregnant.

I'm going today to see if everything is okay, baby is still growing, and to listen to the bean's heartbeat.

They have classified me as a high risk pregnancy, but with all this morning sickness ...I'm hoping that's a good sign that things are still going well inside.

*crosses fingers*

husband: (came to me this morning) Honey, when are we getting another OES. (lol )

me: WHAT?! We're having a baby. ...like in 5 yrs we can get another one.

husband: next year? good, yuki needs a friend.

me: WHAT?! no. 5 yrs!

husband: so what you're saying is...the next 2 yrs?

Indeed my fingers are crossed and prayers offered up too.

Would dialysis help you through this? A friend's husband on waiting list for a kidney, so I have a little knowledge of what you are going through.
:o Pure white light down to you and hubby Jo! Here's hoping for the good news! I'm soooo excited for you! How are you feeling? Other than the butterflies, of course! Does the happy baby dance!!!!!

Karen :)
My fingers, toes, arms and legs are crossed for you, and my prayers go with you, too!

This is so exciting! I'm sorry you're having morning sickness, but as long as you and the baby are fine otherwise, I'm sure you can deal with it.

How wonderful! Your life will change in ways you never dreamed possible - and all for the better!

Please keep us posted. God bless and be with you!

Chris
hehehhe...

well, I'm bloated, tired, dizzy, back hurts, my tummy is sore, and I'm so gassy.

Although I could be gassy because for the life of me... I CANNOT put the food down. I had 4 sandwiches this morning. Go me! ;)

Husband bought me "Pregnancy Week by Week" which I hear is a good book. Also got a 64oz water jug that he forces me to carry around and finish. :)
That's great news! Congratulations! Sounds like things are going well!
Great News!!!

Take care and rest all you can... But don't abuse your hubby!

Best wishes and sheepie kisses from Danita, Saul, Lennon and Sofa.
Congrat. God bless and keep the faith. If you ever feel weak, go to the Lord first, then come to the site, someone will be here to listen, offer encouragement and help cheer you up.

64 oz. jug of water, better ask him to get you a port-a-pot.

Morning sickness - Why is it called morning sickness when it can last for months?

I agree, don't abuse husband.
Congrats! We will all be keeping you in our thoughts and wishing the best for you, baby and hubby. :)
I wish we would stop lolligagging around and unpack the scanner! We've been here since after May 22nd "officially" ...and there are still boxes everywhere.

I just got back and had an ultrasound!

I'm soooooooo excited! She said baby is moving around too much to get a measurement!! I said, "huh? ...the bean is moving around?"

After the measurement, apparently, the baby has had a 7 day growth spurt! We had an ovulation kit, I know when my last "P" was ....so we're pretty sure on dates.

So, I'm not 8 wks pregnant..
I'm 9 wks 4 days!!

I know this isn't exciting to anyone but me since many of you have already had kiddos, but WOOHOO... I'm so flying high! :)
I hope all goes well with the impending blending of your two-legged and four-legged families!

(I was going to say upright and.... but I stopped myself as of course I realized that "upright" probably wouldn't be an accurate description of a newborn.)

Congrats!
Oh, to answer your question earlier... They measure how well your kidney is by what it does to the protein (and how much) it takes in. Is it flushing an appropriate amount out (from what it takes in) ...and is it taking in enough?

So, I go monthly to get a full liver and kidney panel. I'm closely monitored, and they think that my kidney should be able to handle a pregnancy. *fingers crossed*

My reproductive organs have had several problems too, but as the doctor has told me... "if you're going to have kids... you better have them now."

"well dr... that's what we're going to do!" :D
CONGRATULATIONS!!! Great News. My sister only has one kidney (only born with one) and she has had three healthy children. Take extra special good care of yourself. Don't worry about the boxes, I moved last October and I still have boxes. Sit down, put your feet up and let your new hubby pamper you.

lol, that's how I feel sometimes when I write that. When I first read what you wrote, I thought it said "uptight would be a more accurate description." ............laughing, I was going to say "an upTIGHT household I'm sure it will become as the months go by. :D ;)

I try to be kind to the husband. ....just he always goes running, so he could probably fetch the pickles and icecream faster than I could late at night. (JUST KIDdddddddddddding ....would never ask him to do that!) :)
:clappurple: Yea, I am so happy that everything has worked out, 9 weeks is awesome too. First babies are so incredibly exciting, another good book if you can get it is the "What to Expect" series, goes through through everything.

 Morning sickness isn't fun, but a few things I learned. Don't take vitamin on an empty stomach. Don't brush your teeth first thing in the am. Gingerale is good to have on hand. Don't wait until 10 min before an ultrasound to drink 8 classes of water...ewwww.

 It's gonna be the best rollercoaster journey of your life, and you are very lucky to have a hubby that is invloved every step of the way. Sending lots of hugs and wishes to you both.
Glad to hear all went ok with the ultrasound! Did you get to hear the heartbeat? Did they take a picture- or is it still too tiny for that? I'm STILL doing the happy baby dance for you up here!

Don't worry to much about the unpacking- just do it little by little.

Do you have a room picked out in the house for the baby yet? (I'm kinda pathetic- we're not even going to start trying for another couple years, and I already know what my nursery theme is going to be...)

Yeah!!!!

Karen :)
Hi,

Ohhhh what exciting news!!! You know since you appeared in the this forum , we've all got a chance to take part in Yuki's arrival, your handsome soldier fiance's homecoming, your wedding, your move and now this!!!!!! I feel like you guys are family...and of course I claim dibs on being an auntie to the little one! But I'm willing to share that title with eveyone else too..ha ha.

Take good care of yourself and the fatique and morning sickness do pass. Good thing you already have Yuki, you're used to the sound of tiny feet/paws tiptoeing of the floors.( Or is that thundering sounds).
You'll be a fantastic mom.

Congrats to you both!

Marianne and the boys
I am so happy for you!!!!!
YEAH!!!! A Baby.
Don't worry what Daisie said about 8 glasses of water before ultrasounds...
It's no longer required... thank godness because I have the smallest bladder in the world. I had to drink the water when I was pregnant with my son. I thought I would Pee right there on the table (sorry guys) lol
Well since I just went through it myself and I was also high risk....If you need any advice I'm here!
Congrats to you and your hubby

Elissa & Family
Just wanted to send congrats to you and your hubby, having a baby is the most exciting thing ever!! Try to rest up as best you can!! And enjoy your growing baby; are you due in December or January? My first pregnancy turned high risk towards the end, so put your health first and take lots of pics of your tummy!!
YEA :D I am so happy for you , hubby and the bean
Happiness all around!!!!!! Take it easy, that is all the advise I can give, never going through it :D but really congradulations :clappurple:
Wow, congrats to you! I wish you and yours all the best!
Congratulations!!!!!!

Be sure to take care of yourself and take advantage of any pampering while it lasts!
Thanks for all the warm wishes. Very appreciated.

I forgot to say... the due date is somewhere around the 7th of Jan. Wish it was the 1st of Jan. :D

Mr Joah liked it better when the due date WAS around the 16th of Jan because it's closer to his birthday (hoping I'd deliver super late).

I guess I'm so bad. I feel bad we found out BEFORE out honeymoon (which is the 1st of July)! We had plans to go horseback riding and water rafting in Telluride, Colorado. Two things I've never done. Well... hubby said NO WAY....now. I begged and begged and said I wouldn't fall off the horse, but he cancelled it.

We'll still have fun on the hot balloon ride and hiking!
Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Your life will change SO much but definitely for the best. :) Morning sickness is awful! I had it badly with my first two - lost 20 pounds the first 4 months with both of them. I didn't really find anything that helped with them, so I can't offer much advice. I tried all the tricks like crackers before you get up, eating frequently, water, medicine, etc... My 3rd pregnancy was a charm though - no problems at all and I could have ran a marathon the day I delivered him! I'm glad all is well with the little one! Nothing is like seeing them moving around and that heartbeat for the first time (well...maybe meeting them for the first time, seeing that first smile, first steps, etc...) Ahh - emotional journey! I still cry over everything they do - lol Enjoy your pregnancy...it really does go by way too fast!

Since everyone keeps asking me for an updated belly pic, here I am 16wks. Left it a link so if you didn't want to see my belly, ...haha ...you didn't have to look. :P

AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWw How cute!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You're so tiny!!! I have a feeling that you are not going to look pregenant from the back....only the profile :D you should update the photos every 6 weeks or so....very cool!!
I'm so excited about this!

Every day I say to Mr. J, "Look at my stomach. Can you tell I got bigger?"

Every day he says, "It looks like it did yesterday. Sure it looks bigger" (as he rolls his eyes)

Well, IIIIIIIIII can tell.

I can't tell if I'm forming like a basketball or watermelon though.
You look great!!!! Isn't it so exciting (and a little weird) watching your belly grow!!!!!

Karen
This is so exciting! Congrats!

I would like to say for the record I wish I had your 16wk tummy! You look awesome!

This is going to be fun watching the tummy grow!

Colleen and Gucci George
Baby tummy!!!! :o Grow bean, grow!!! Yeah!!!! I'm so excited for you two! Are you feeling better now, or do you still have the morning sickness issues. Have you bought any cute baby stuff yet? (I already have my eye on a "Sneezy Activity Dragon" from my mom's work- and we're not even pregnant yet!)

Karen :)
That is hilarious. Well, you're already ahead of me because we don't have anything cool.

Yesterday at Hallmark, my husband MADE ME agree to buy a dog that is white and black. I said, it does not look like a sheepdog!
him: It would look so cute in the baby room. Yes it does!!!! Include a patch over the eye, and it's yuki.
me: an anorexic yuki?
him: pleeeeeeassssssssseeeeeeeeeee
me: uuuuuuuughhhhhh
(we purchased it)

I don't have morning sickness anymore, but I do seem to have a headache a lot, feet are starting to hurt, lower back pains, my boobs are super sore, and there's a lot of belly movement. Usually feel sick to the stomach, but nothing like I did in the beginning.

To give a summary, I walk like I'm 80, and my husband could pretty much leave the toilet seat up, leave all the lights on when he leaves for work, and fart in Yuki's face (lovely) without me caring. I'm too busy moping.
oh!!! You poor thing! Well, the only advice I have is to do things that make you happy- if you like plants, go to a public garden, if you like comedys, rent some videos. Pet the dogs. Plan your nursery! Try not to stress too much, and stay out of the heat! Hugs and kisses from MN!

Karen :)
Congratulations to you and your husband!!! What a journey...enjoy each moment from NOW ON!!! You blink and they are grown!!! Babies and sheepies go together really well!
TODAY IS THE DAY to find out the gender!!!!

I AM SO NERVOUS!!!! My husband hopefully makes it here in time. Appt is in 3 hours!

I have a bad feeling his/her legs will be crossed. ...that's just my luck.
oohh! So exciting! Let us know what you find out!

Karen :)
I was sure with Hayley she would have her legs crossed. Nope she had them spread wide open 8O Not very lady like...lol
And with my son... It was also very obvious.

Good Luck. I hope the baby is in the right position

Elissa
YAY! Good luck!

Colleen and Gucci George
Can't wait to hear if it's a girl bean or a boy bean!!!!
I was able to find out with all three of mine what they were... I kind of wish I had left the last one as a surprise...lol....
If I ever had another one, they better say "girl" ! (just kidding, as with all new moms all we really want is a healthy baby, but seriously, if I had another boy I think they'd have to sedate me)
IT'S A.........

GIRL!!!!!!!!!
Daddy is so excited. He's already talking about sex talks and everything. hahaha

Actually we're not sure. She said "please don't quote me on this" ...because the ultrasound was VERY blurry. I have another appt the last week in Aug. to get a REAL ultrasound by radiology so we can be more sure. She said there's nothing between the bean's legs that indicates it has a 5 limbs. Mr. Joah said "you wouldn't be able to miss it if it had a 5th limb...." I just rolled my eyes. ;)
Hehehehehehehe. Well, hold off on the pink for a few more weeks!!!
Yeah..a girl!!! maybe... :D
My gut knew beforehand...despite how set I was in gender... that it was a girl. I'm pretty sure it's a girl. There was no sign of a "5th limb" or even slight variation in shading in the ultrasound, so I feel confident we'll hear it's a girl AGAIN at the second ultrasound. :)

Mr. Joah told his mom what we're having and he said, "I'm so excited. I (Mr. Joah) didn't care either way, ...just Mrs. Joahaeyo." WHAT?!?! lol ...all he talked about is having his very own Michael Jordan Jr. haha

We're still going to shop for green/yellows because we definitely plan on having more children even if we adopt! So we're passing everything along...
Yeah, yippee!! congrats!

Karen
Yay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :):):)
Congratulations! How very exciting!! :D :D
Awwwwhhhhh!!! Yeah!!! A precious baby Girl!!! I'm so happy for you guys! Have you seen how cute baby girl clothes are!? Sooo cute!!! I think I may have to buy something and mail it to you just because I want to buy something that is that cute!!! Hooray for both of you!

Karen :)
Yay...congrats! Girls are so much fun to shop for. I only have sons and all nephews, so I can't wait until someone in the family has a little girl I can spoil. :)
I agree with all the great stuff you can get for girls! FUN!

Congrats!

Colleen and Gucci George=>I love GIRLS! :D
G.G. You're a tease :D
YEAH a GIRL!!!
I am so excited for you.
Especially since I know what it's like to have both.
I adore my son...don't get me wrong....but I always wanted a girl.
I have a sister and no brothers so when my son came along I had no idea what to do.
I know the second miscarriage I had was a girl.
So to find out with this last pregnancy which was #6 and only my second child that it was a girl was amazing!!!
As for not enjoying my pregnancies probably was because I was a nervous wreck and in a lot of pain due to my Fibromyalgia. I had reason to worry though with my history. I am also small framed and didn't SHOW until 8 mos both times... It just looked like I had gained some weight.
I wish you were closer... I have a ton of newborn clothes Hayley hardly wore...and some she didn't
Best Wishes
Elissa
