At what age does a Sheepie.......

At what age does a Sheepie become a couch potato? My 1-yr old plays non-stop. Naps seem just long enough for her to get re-energized. Yeah, its fun (don't get me wrong) but I have to sleep sometime! Will she ever slow down? 18 hours of play a day is a big much.

We saw a difference at 2 and I swear the day she turned 3, she REALLLLLLY changed. Couch potato for sure.... and things haven't changed. ;)
1 year old, they are still babies!......well mad cap teenagers. 18 months-24 years they grow a brain (hopefully) and by 36 they will be more responsible, you can give them the keys to the car ........
Eevee is a couch potato already, she's sleeping next to me on the couch as I type.
My guys are always busy with classes, events and such - so even mine as pups are pretty calm.
Mixing physical activity and mental is the key. Mine don't really have "no brain" stages...maybe I just expect more!...and get it :)

I like to work proactively - do activities, training skills, so they don't get so crazy and ready to explode.
It's a much better way to live than trying to settle and unwind them when they are crazy - that's working reactively and after-the -fact. Keeping one step ahead is a better way, rather than trying to catch up.
So I guess I have another 12-18 months of this. Good to know. I better stock up on toys!
Lily is 20 months. (She will be 2 in oct.) and she is far from a couch potato. First thing in the morning, fetch and when thats done she just kicks the ball around herself, then she naps til dad gets up and its wrestle time! Thats if she doesnt jump on him to wake him up to wrestle. After that she plays with our other dogs...
We were just with Dahlia tonight. They are a year apart. Dahlia is 1.5 Chowder is 2.5. There is definitely an energy level difference when not playing. We saw it around 2 and it was a nice relief because we can still get her energized and have fun.
I have 2 right now that are 7 & 12 respectively....years that is. Couch potato isn't in their vocabulary. 8O
Most of ours have been more "sedate" at about 6 yrs old-always something going on here for them to check out and keep an eye on-it's hard work for them to unpack a parcel as you are packing it and be generaly "helpfull"
Maybe it's just a phase, but both Ava and Lacy are content to pretty much lay around in whatever room I happen to be in. If I were on the couch, they'd be there. But I have a feeling it's a phase, since they are 5 months and 3 months, lol.

Lily went through a good phase too at that age. Dont worry ava and lacy will get over it quickly! :excited:
Archie is coming up 5 in August and just loves to play and play and play and play and then snooze a bit then play and play and play

Maybe our cooler climate helps?

I must admit I do wind him up a bit, he does go nuts when I get home! even after midnight..........
