Raspberry

Hi all,

it's been a while since I posted anything. Just to let you know that Mao is doing verry well. He is growing into a very handsome boy and he is just so intelligent and easy to live with.

Anyway, I wanted to let you know that we are making a lot less raspberry pie this year than previous years. The reason is that our sheepdog just loves raspberries. He started eating them last year but this year, we have lots and lots of them, and Mao just loves them.

it is really funny to see him eat them. He take them one at a time beetween in teeths, very carefully, not to break them, and as soon as the fruit is disconected from the bush he eats it.

I just hope that Raspberries are not bad for sheepies. at least it does not look like it is since he has been eating lots of them.

thanks

Thierry

We're lucky Butchy hasn't figured that our yet, he just enjoys them after they are picked.
I'm not a vet but as long as they're ripe and they only snack on a reasonable quantity, I see no reason not to share them. That said, I fenced in the raspberries... rather fenced out the dogs... last night. Everyone heads over there to get a snack instead of tending to "business". 8)

These guys were doing this last night for a couple of rationed raspberries.

Before there were ever any raspberries on the canes, this yahoo was certain there should be.

Take pictures... please? They are so funny.
Yep,Sprocket loves raspberrys as well. He has found the strawberries now. We have the blue berries behind a fence so they are safe. He tried a loganberry and found they are not to his taste-you should have seen the look on his face, you just see him saying "yuk".x
Brick LOVES watermelon.
He's a little skeptical at the first watermelon of the season, but after his first chunk, the look on his face says "OMG,OMG, OMG; MORE, MORE, MORE!!"
:)
Lovely pixs Jaci!

years ago I did a televised garden show here in town. Often we'd be in my garden talking, demonstrating, etc. My own little "Victory Garden." We always needed extra footage for credits at the end. One of the Great Pyrs.....a pup but which one??...would sneak into the raspberries while the garden was open and munch down berries.....rather like Jaci's picture. Abbott, the Newfoundland was also a grape thief.......Both were immortalized doing their sneaky deeds for credit footage.

Stella.......that's the raspberry thief!!... first brought to my attention her devotion to fruit. I wondered why the currants only bore high up......as I was picking one side, she was on the other side picking.....and burped! Busted!!
Thanks for the info.

Great Pictures. I will try to get some of Mao munching on his favorite berry.

Bloo likes watermelon too! :)
He also loves strawberries and apples. I gave him a raspberry before he spat it out in disgust :P I think i gave him a sour one
Oh I love those photos! No berry eaters here. Mine roll in the mullberries that have fallen on the ground. Not so easy to get purple off of them!
A sheepie with a purple rinse? very colourful.x
