poison trifecta!

Today while at work I got a call from Derek... Unusual since he doesn't call me at work ever. Well he did 3 weeks ago to tell me Duke ate 10 oz of raisins and where do I want to take him since it was a holiday. This time it was chicken mole... chocolate, raisins and onions. posting.php?mode=post&f=12# Next I think he should wash it down with either coffee or booze. He caught him right after he ate it and made him throw up and I brought home some activated charcoal. I actually have some pictures of him enjoying his chalky treat. Then a bath for his black beard. All of this after coming home from a 8 hour shift and only 4 hours sleep the night before. I am tuckered. Also a little upset that Derek was unable to remember that Duke will eat any food left counter height or lowerhttp://forum.oes.org/posting.php?mode=post&f=12#. Hopefully this isn't putting too much stress on his liver. Anyone have a dog with liver problems here?

I think he looks pleased with his black beard and yick tongue. What a mess! Poor you and Duke.
Next time you can use hydrogen peroxide to induce vomiting - it works VERY well, and no black mess.
...oh yes, I REALLY hope this is not needed though!
Yeah, the black beard is cute, but the tongue......yuck. Doubt there was enough chocolate to be a problem but part of a trifecta.......yeah that was smart thing to do.
how did you get him to eat the charcoal????
YUCK!!!
What's the black mass on the side of his bowl?
vomiting was induced via peroxide the charcoal absorbs toxins so they don't harm his kidneys and liver and it was real dark chocolate cocoa powder but the raisins and onion were the things I was most worried about.
The glob on the side of his bowl was some of the activated charcoal he had pushed out while eating the rest.
He actually ate it all on his own and even licked up the mess he made on the floor. That is my problem he will eat anything that he deems edible.
Derek tasted the charcoal and said it was nasty. I thought it was funny that he was willing to taste it just because Duke seemed so pleased to eat it.
From the look on Dukes face, it looks like he really would eat anything that didn't eat him first, lol. What an adorable messy sheepie!
I have one with a bad liver. She is holding her own, on Demarin, for three years. We think she reacted to TopSpot, so she doesn't get it anymore. She also gets Osteo-3 for arthritis. We just upped the Osteo-3 and it seems to be working. With her liver, we think twice about every medication. No dentals or removal of her lipomas. She is eleven and a real love.
