| Boston has its annual Fourth of July celebration, consisting of the Boston Pops Esplanade Orchestra and fireworks, which is usually broadcast nationally. I haven't liked the broadcast of these things; I feel the directors all like to be part of the artistry and spend waaaay too much time panning and zooming and trying to add drama of some sort to the concert and to the fireworks. I like the video I posted above because they taped the fireworks, not the faces of a child watching, a boyfriend holding his girlfriend while they watch, the backside of people watching, a zoom across the scene from a helicopter... then they usually miss the firing of the canon and we get to see the soldiers getting ready to fire, then after the shot. It's more frustration and comedy than the actual event!  But it's better than not being able to see it at all. |
