Ignoring me

Although we are having lots of rin, its so hot and humid. I walk bloo 3 times a day, one road walk, 2 park runs, and we go wondering at night for wee wee and poop time.
But just lately he comes back and completely ignores me, he just comes in and lays by the open back door. I set up some jumps etc...in the garden, bought a football, hes not interested he just goes to sleep again!

Is it to do with the heat? Because hes not eating either...

If he is up in the morning when it is cooler, it probably is just the heat. Remember dogs don't perspire except on the bottom of their feet and behind their nose. So it is harder for them to control body temp. The solution is to cut back activity......sleep. They also cut back eating as their body isn't expending energy so why eat.

If he isn't interested in activities in the cooler part of the day, I'd be moderately concerned. To him that is natural quiet time and he doesn't want to wake up his family. You might changing your routine a bit to see if an earlier day would help him. Then you both can crash during the hot times.
My money is on the weather. We have two that do the same thing although it's usually when Jen turns the A/C off when she gets cold. For some reason she keeps for getting that she can add layers and the dogs can't remove layers...

Have you noticed any change in his appetite? I'll bet he's not eating as much or as fast as normal either. Zoey won't eat when it's really hot, like over 95 or so. Bentley was REALLY bad for this. The first summer we had him he missed many meals, by choice, as it was too hot for him.

Watch him but I'll bet that's it.

I'm thinking it's the heat also. Is he still drinking?
We have a bowl of water outside and one inside and to be honest after hes been walkies he normaly drinks but he hasnt been drinking a lot just lately. Ive been giving him icey cubes that is the only way os getting him water :/ I dont know, his bowls are untouched. He can lay there panting for hours and wont have a drink :( I dont know if its normal or not...
if he is panting for hours he might be way too hot ..how long has he not eaten
good news, he has eaten his dinner! Lamb and veggies :)
WOO-WHO!!! But then again, I prolly would have eaten that too!

Sam, Bloo is probably feeling the heat. It has been cooler here today, so hopefully it has for you and Bloo xx
