Everyone was out swimming in the pool today. It's an above ground pool, so I didn't really think the dogs could get in it. Eevee kept running around the pool trying to check out what we were doing, so I went and got her and sat her at the top of the ladder so she could see. She started thinking about jumping in!! After a little encouragement from Jacob, she jumped right in, all by herself!! Unfortunately, my five year old niece (who is in an I-don't-have-to-listen-to-anyone phase at the moment) got scratched by her because she got in front of her while she was paddling, so we had to get her out. We put her back up on the ladder, and she would have jumped back in if I didn't keep her up there. I'm happy to finally have a water dog! All our other dogs over the years have never gotten any farther than standing in a puddle. We're going to try to get Bailey in next time we are over there, she's not too fond of being picked up though so she might freak out. I'll try to post some pictures later, I didn't get any of her in the pool, but I got some wet dog pictures!
(Safety first! I was right behind her on the ladder the whole time so she couldn't fall to the ground.) |

Dock diving looks COOL! Maybe we'll have to get into that, too 
Does anyone have suggestions for an easier way to get the dogs into the pool? Like a doggy pool ladder? It's already hard to lift 47 pound Eevee on to the bed, let alone the ladder which is taller than I am  Plus the dogs can't get themselves out on the regular ladder, we have to lift her. |

(Tip: When you have a water loving sheepie dont go near lakes if you dont want a day bathing/drying, we learnt that after bloo jumped in chasing geese! ) LOL |
