It's been 1 year

One year ago we had to say goodbye to our friend, Pooh Bear. I can't believe the time has passed so quickly. We miss him terribly. There isn't a day that goes by that we don't think about him. The tears still flow as they are now while I am sitting and typing this. He was my husband's constant companion no matter where he went. He snuggled with me at bedtime. The last few days was difficult to watch and his body was failing him and letting him go, was harder still. I laid in the back of the van with him during the ride to the vet's office. My husband and son carried him into the van on a blanket since he couldn't move anymore. He stared into my son's face like he knew he wouldn't see him again and was saying goodbye and thank you at the same time. I laid with him on the floor at the vet inhaling his smell. We knew he would be at peace and would not be hurting anymore, but our hearts were hurting. He has "visited" a few times during the year and I hope these visits continue. I want to thank everyone for their support during that time. It was a godsend during that time and helped the healing process. Our hearts are a bit lighter now with Angus coming into our lives.

He loved spending time in the garage watching his "dad" putter around.

He wouldn't miss an opportunity for a ride...didn't matter what he was in, as long as he could "go"

"Look mom what followed me home...can I keep him?"

All buckled in, safe and sound. Coming home for good.

Anniversarys are the hardest times after such a great loss. I am so sorry. Your tribute to Pooh Bear was beautiful. Run free sweet sheepie boy at the Rainbow Bridge.

It's a mercedes replica my husband built. He was selling it and took a picture of it with Pooh since Pooh was a town fixture riding in that.
