Boys will be boys or dogs will be dogs????

So I'm on night shift this weekend and sleep all day. The only time I crate Teddy now is when I'm sleeping because he will wake me up with his window patrolling between the living room picture window and the back porch windows. He doesn't usually bark at the neighborhood wildlife, squirrels, rabbits and birds, but it sounds like a horse running in the house when he runs from the living room to the back porch. Actually, it's probably more of the thud that would wake me as the couch legs hit the floor after his launch to run to the back porch! 8O

Anyway, when I got up this afternoon and let him outside, he did his usual run around the yard and then comes in for his dinner. So after about 30 minutes, we go back out in the yard and he is running around the yard like a mad man. That boy loves to run and I have the perfect yard for it. I go back in the house and he comes with. I have less than an hour before I have to leave for work again and want to give him a quick once over with the brush and redo his top knot so he can see better as it's falling out from his craziness. Well he wants out again, so I let him out and he's making a trip around the yard again so I go get my clothes out and ready for my shower.

I go to get him back in the house and see him by the fence rolling in something! I run out the door yelling at him to stop and yell at him "what are you rolling in?" like I'm expecting an answer....lol He gives me the "what is your issue look?' and comes in the house with me. So I take him down the basement to the grooming table and see the dark spot of whatever it was on his white neck. Luckily it didn't smell, but gross none the less. 8O So I have all of 15 minutes to get this cleaned off of him and a quick brushing. I just sprayed some Crown Royal #3 grooming spray on it and it came out okay.

Is it just the boys or all dogs, that the more the disgusting it is, the better they like to roll in it? 8O

Thought you would enjoy the little laugh for the day.

Cindy, we have TWO GIRLS that do the same thing!!! It's a dog thing. Nothing to do with boy vs. girl.

Vance
Just a dog thing, not sex related. If it smells "good" they want to wear it.
I cannot relate to this subject at all.

   No not a boy thing, ask mim and tiggy with the fox spore, I had tigs in the car with Syd and Phew the eau de la foxy smell was on the nose, I think syd was glad to vacate the back of the wagon away from smelly girl and commence our walkies. 8)

Now try "FRESH GREEN COW PATS" yep a sheepie girl guilty of that, we were at my sis's farm, she was running in the paddock and WOO HOO, this fresh stuff screams "ROLL IN"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We had to throw her in the dam and even then the trip home for 3 hours was ALL WINDOWS DOWN with stinky girl. Bath and blow dry was done as soon as we arrived home, yep a show sheepie that PONGED!!!!!!

This was my cow poo roller, looking at her you would not think that she was such a OOOH this smells awesome :excited:

Hate to say it but her great grand niece babs takes after her tom boy great grand Aunt!!!!
How about sheepdogs will be pigs? ;-)

Kristine
I fear to imagine! Pig poop is just awful. One thing about horse poop, better snack than body lotion. Now roadkill, that too is high on body lotion chart.
I had to bathe Riley before our parade today...he's a little dog who's BIG on rolling :(
As Lisa said, definitely NOT a boy thing.

Tiggy has been rolling in smelly patches all over the golf course that I walk her on at night for the past few weeks.
How could a dog named CHARM be anything but...she too is such a roller!
