What to take to obedience class?

Since it's proved impossible to contact anyone involved with our obedience classes, we're just going to show up. I called, I emailed, I facebooked, and no answers! Whatever. Is there anything (besides the dogs) that we should take with us? Like treats or something? I've never actually been to an obedience class, so I don't really know.

I would take treats, yes. My suggestion, having been through one round of obedience with Ava already - is that you take either treats that you can cut up into tiny pieces, or the specific tiny little "training treats" that you can find at the store. Ava liked both.

I've found she'll do anything for the Blue Buffalo Salmon treats - but they're huge. So I cut them up into tiny pieces and take a baggie of them with me.
Oh, and at least the ones around here - seem to want you to have a buckle collar on them - no slip or chain chokers. And take your leash of course.
Small, soft treats that don't have to be crunched, can be eaten in a swallow. And a 6' leash, not a long one.
We use turkey hotdogs for training, cut in half lengthwise then in 1/4" pieces.
Probably each instructor is different, but we needed a six foot leash, a martingale or choker collar, treats(some trainers do not use) and our own water and bowls. We always have bags, wipes, hand sanitizer, and anything else I think that I might possibly remotely need one day

Good luck with your first class! Its exciting and fun!! Can't wait to hear your stories!!
Both pups are always in buckle collars, so we've got that. We actually bought training treats right before we got Eevee, both dogs love them. I think Bailey's leash is only 5', is that okay? Eevee's is 6'.
Our beginner training specified NOT to bring a dog on the first night. That's when the instructor went over the outline of the class and gave us a list of things to bring to future classes. Something to consider.

Do you know anyone who has gone through this instructor's class previously? It would be a good idea to check with them if possible so you're as prepared as possible.
Unfortunately, I don't know anyone who's been there. I wish they would just answer their phones!!!!
We had to have a training bag for the treats, six ft leash (no retractables). fixed collar (no slips), 2 types of treats (a backup for the ones they don't like), clicker on a wristband. Later we had to bring a towel/blanket/pad/bed for teaching settle.

Don't feed the dog before class, so the treats are more meaningful.
I tried calling one last time- she answered the phone!! Woohoo!
One thing to bring you all forgot- shot records! Lol, didn't even think about that one.
Glad you were able to reach them, finally!

Good idea to keep a copy of vet records in all of your vehicles. They've come in handy on various occasions.

Have fun in your class!
