Snapping

I am looking for a little advice on this just to make sure I'm not doing something wrong, or if I should be doing something more. I've had many dogs growing up and currently have an almost 3 year old Labradoodle, who during the teething phase was an ABSOLUTELY terror, snappy little alligator, who is now the sweetest thing in the world and would never bite or chomp down on anything.

Ramsey currently is going through his teething phase! Loosing teeth and getting them in like crazy, I have 4 actually, haha. I know he's miserable and wants to chew, he's 5 months. My issue is snapping. He will snap when he's worked up, or randomly when you're in his face. When he's worked up, as a puppy, obviously this is kinda inevitable, as I know. And I absolutely never let him in my face right now unless I'm holding him, lol. He will snap at my face or anyone who puts their face in his face, not always, when he's worked up mostly. He will also give kisses a lot, to put this in perspective. He will sometimes try to chew or mouth. I always say no and ignore or turn around (he doesn't continue to try anything). Redirection to a bone or something also.

Tell me I am doing this correctly for my own peace of mind and it's just a phase that maybe I put out of my mind, lol. I don't want a snapping your face off adult OES!

Example of him growing out of his phases. He used to chase your legs/pants and grab the back of them (trying to herd). He no longer does that, lol.

So yeah, 5 months! Advice!!??

He gets walks, TONS of playtime, lots of playtime with other doggies aside from his big sister, training every morning and night, etc., just so you know what I'm kinda asking. Haha.

Here is an updated picture of my snappy monster, and his sister, the snappy monster of the past, haha.

I think you are on the right track, keep various chewies handy, even a frozen Kong http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CKG8YPs_udw

Push pup down with your negative sound.....pssssst...or whatever and let her settle. Praise. Won't work the first 4 dozen times, but eventually that little pea brain catches on. Also anticipate jumpies and have a plan...a toy, a distraction, something.
Yes! Exactly what I have been doing. Just repetition, I always use uh uhhhh, as my other knows that's a "back up now missy" move, lol
