I am so upset

The owner of my house sprayed round up weed killer all around the edges of my yard, in my fence line and in the neighbors yard. What makes it worse is his wife is a vet and they have an office right next to my house! We have had two dogs have seizures while living at this house and one had to be put down because of it and the other is now permently epilleptic. I did call the property management office last weekend and first thing this morning. The owner did not have permission to do this or be on the property....im soo pissed. Im waiting to see what the management company says but i have a feeling i need to look into getting a lawyer.

I would be SO mad!
Oh im more than mad, im to the point im so mad im calm about it...
I would have burned down their house by now.
Roundup as far as poison goes, is fairly mild. It is quickly deactivated when it touches earth. Be grateful it wasn't one of the really toxic materials. As to what happens to plants, that's another story. The effects won't be seen for several weeks...depending on the type Roundup.

Still with your dogs' histories, I'd be very upset. Legally, if you are responsible for the yard upkeep, not the owner, then you have recourse. He at least needed to contact you about his intensions. Neighbor's plants that are injured or killed, there's small claims court.
They are just the owners, i contract through a property management company (i have never and should never had to deal with the owners) and yes in my contract/lease i am responsible for the yard care...
What about hosing it all down with the garden hose to dilute the Hell out of it? Contact the folks who make Round-Up to see what they suggest? And as a final touch, how about going into the office while it's nice and full with clients and demanding a full explaination including what they're going to do to rectify the problem. And don't leave without being satisfied.

Well i contacted the property management this morning and they are looking into it. They havent gotten back to me yet but if there is no contact by wed morning (my first day off) im using my first day off to contact a lawyer. The property management has my work # and home. I doubt they are going to get back to me today since they close in a half hr.
Hosing it down to dilute it should help.
Oh I would be pissed too! However, from a legal standpoint, when you make a complaint, be sure to say it is a HUMAN risk. They react differently if its "Humans" as opposed to "dog"...Unfortunately, dog liability is limited and it isn't a lot of money. The law unfortinately doesn't consider dogs anything more than property and it doesn't put alot of value on a dogs life. That is NOT my opinion. That is the law in most States. However, HUMANS...unlimited. So be sure to say, the risk to humans are the problem! Make a stink that you and your children have been exposed to this chemical...That will make some noise....
Just tell them you like to rump and frolic in the green grass!!!

yes, get legal advice!! I went through something similar while living in California. I got a lawyer through PPL (very inexpensive) and he saved the day. But that gut wrenching feeling is the worst!
