Protecting my food...

Bailey has all of a sudden decided to protect my food from the cats for me! If I leave it on the coffee table, the cat will eventually sneak up and try to nab some for himself, but Bailey has started hanging around while I'm eating and she growls at the cat when she decides that he is getting too close. I'm a little worried that she might bite the cat or something. Isn't it weird that she protects my food? Especially when she doesn't even worry about her own food!

Food guarding once removed?? Strange.
Well, I think she's calling dibs! Like, " hey cat, if anyone is getting a bite, IT'S ME!!!" :clappurple:
It's my fault for feeding Bailey meat scraps occasionally, she's used to getting a little nibble and doesn't want the cats to get it from her! She's just so dang cute, I can't help but give her a little something...

She never takes anything off of my plate even if I'm not in the room, which is nice. Eevee on the other hand, is not so trustworthy! She'll snatch something off the table, but only when nobody is watching. The cats are the worst though! They'll snatch your food when even if you're right there, then drop it on the floor so it gets covered in hair and you can't eat it anyway! Jacob made the mistake of leaving half a pizza on the kitchen counter, by the time anyone went back to the kitchen the pizza was on the floor and the cats were feasting.
Cats & dogs would be hung drawn and quartered if they were on the table or work tops. Georgi is a bit of a sneak but she learnt that from the old gent Sherwood. He won't put his paws on the table or work tops but Georgie has & she has had the wooden spoon a few times. He smells the food & decides to sit under the table but Georgie has nicked his spot

Well, the coffee table is at dog level, so they don't get on it or anything. We had an incident with Bailey jumping onto onto the kitchen table once because she thought it was the best way to get to me, but other than that she's a good girl. And there's no stopping these darn cats, they do whatever they want!
Our one cat toffee (bengal) she is a dog disguised as a cat. Her and bloo run around together, lie together even lick each other!
I found out bloo gets jealous. REALLY jealous when i fuss toffee or give her something without bloo. And i will say, he has nipped her a few times, which ends up in a bit of a scrap. (Pull claws out bloos nose) but they make friends soon after again :P

:lmt: Maybe give the dogs a chew each while your eating to keep them away.

I admit bloo has a bit of everything i have (except nuts and chocolate because that makes dogs sick) his face is just too cute right!... He has no food manners, but thats my fault :)

Good luck! x
