We had severe thunderstorms Tuesday night with very high winds and hail that cut a lot of leaves off our trees, most of which ended up in the pool. The first order of business yesterday morning was to empty the skimmers. I found 4 of these in one skimmer, only one was still alive (we have a salt water pool): Click through for fullsize image: I didn't know we have salamanders in the area. There is nothing close to a compatible habitat for them in or near my yard. The only option is they fell from the sky! ![]() |

We used to have lots of sallies around here....too many farm chemicals and other stuff in the world have been really hard on their population ![]() Glad that one of yours made it. |
Imagine the updrafts needed to carry the sallies across the sky! If they could talk, what a story they could tell, "We aren't in Kansas anymore Toto." |
Frogs falling from the skies. Makes one think about old Charlton Heston movies... |
Interesting! Haven't seen those here but... We have found some strange creatures in our pool this year too. We have turtles-two of them keep getting in and then can't get out. We take them out and a couple of days later they are back. We repeat the process--I guess they just like to float around in there. ![]() ![]() |
We had the same thing with a turtle last year then found out he was the neighbor's pet that got lose. I asked them how in the world a turtle ran away from them. I think it was Mom that got tired of taking care of it. |
