Potty break in Effingham County, IL.

Also wanted to say that I had a great time with all my old friends and new friends.
Can't wait to see you all at the next sheepie fun event.

Have safe trips everyone.
Glad brick felt better so he could enjoy the festivities. Be safe! Hope to see you soon!
It was great seeing you-Brick and Zeke! Drive safe!
Ex had lunch, so I was there for little more than an hour.

Dropped "Snowy" off. :(
Leaving Columbus now.

Why does the ride home seem like it takes forever?
Just went through Indy.

Oops! Sorry, Mark.... Here's the photo I had posted above.

Well, we made it home at 9:30 PM EDT.
Wow what a drive. Glad the drive is over.

St. Louis to Columbus was a snap. Made great time; 6 hours and 20 min. Spent a little too much time at the ex's, but they made hamburgs & hotdogs and insisted I stay for lunch. It was a nice visit. Hard saying "see ya later" to Zeke this time. Don't know why.

Columbus to Syracuse was another story. TONS of traffic, construction, and those damn Ohio cops were EVERYWHERE. With all that, I'm not sure I ever got above the speed limit. I would say traffic was bad all the way to Buffalo, NY before it thinned out. I was finally able to make good time in that last leg but it didn't help much.

So I got home at about 9:30 PM, but I had to gas the rental, unload it, set Brick's cable back up, put him outside, clean the noseprints and drool marks off the windows & door panels, then take the rental back, and THEN pick up my Blazer from my buddy's house. I finally got to sit down with a little food at 11:30 PM.

I think I'll be taking some personal time tomorrow morning.

Oh yeah, it's 86 degrees in the house right now. No air in this house. Gonna be great sleeping tonight

Hope everyone else had/has safe travels today & tomorrow.
Long drive for you--you deserve a little personal time tomorrow morning! Have to rest up from such a fun weekend! :D
Great picture, Nita!

Ugh - long trip....mine was longer because of the cops and construction too.

Amazingly, IA patrol was the least of any state - MO, and MN were solid cops everywhere!! Although one 7 mile stretch in IA took me 30 minutes, thanks to construction in Waterloo. :(
Thank goodness my AC only quit once on the drive...and came back on after about 30 minutes. :)
It was a great 70 degrees when I got home - sending it east!
Glad to hear you guys got home safely!
Just arrived home about an hour ago. Yeah, the I-55(?) out of St. Louis was crawling with cop cars ALL OVER the place, was a major blitz, I behaved, no more than 60. When we hit Indiana was better, and there was all these fancy cars in full race livery driving the other way, Ferrari's, Lamborghini's, nicer Porsche's, Mercedes, Audi's, Corvette's, they kept passing for an hour at least, must be some sort of promotional club thing tied in with the Indy 500. It opened up a lot once we headed north, and we had a fairly new interstate almost to ourselves, I didn't behave   We were making great time until we hit a part of the Interstate being built, and got on a detour. Our GPS had a stroke, and somehow the "avoid highways" toggle got set and we ended up driving all these slow country roads, we had no idea where we were. After driving more, we finally stopped and were able to fix it. We were in the outskirts of Toledo, ended up driving north to Detroit, lost over an hour. :(
David,
I saw a ton of those cars, too!
They were all heading west on I-70.
I thought it had something to do with Indy but then I wondered if it had something to do with that TV show Bull Run.
Or maybe it was a Cannonball Run.

I saw a Challenger, a few purpose built cars on trailers, Corvettes, Rolls Royces, and a new Mercedes SLS AMG.
Pretty cool.
They were part of the Cannonball Run. Rob "rubber-necked" it all the way. Well that and drooled.
I am soooo glad that we didn't see those - we would have ended up wherever they were going...
Made it home last evening. Flights were good but full. Luckily I was able to get myself on an eariler flight from Toronto to Ottawa so I got home an hour earlier. David, I guess I found your hour that you lost. Picked up Ziggi this morning and she was nice and clean and fuzzy. When she got home she had to remember her way around the house so she walked into a few walls.

I told her all about the fun we had and the great people and sheepies that I met. I think she is jealous.

Oh yeah, I saw that one Rolls Royce as well, what made it interesting was that they were all in race livery, so it couldn't just be a fun run for some automotive millionaires club, unless they like painting their cars like that.
I did a quick Google and I couldn't find anything. I'll have to post something on my car forums. Maybe guys local to that area know what it was.
They may not have been painted. Those could have been removable decals.
Got it!
It was the Gumball 3000 Run.

Ah cool! Yeah I've heard of that before, I remember the 2010 run went through parts of Canada and there were a lot of negative nellies on comment sites going on about how they better not speed etc. That's so cool that we saw it go past! I must have spotted at least 50 cars!
Too bad we couldn't have stuck around St. Louis a few more days. They all came thru the Lou. Wondered if they stopped there.
