great dane

Here i am saying bloo is getting dominering towards other dogs, he has NEVER been scared or curious towards another dog before, we walked round the corner to find a great dane standing there!
Bloo saw it and ran off with me attached to the end of the lead!
while bloo was kicking up a fuss on the lead, the dane was just standing there, i was like bloo he is harmless, he thought different LOL :P
Bloo is a scardy cat! :P :headbang:

Busted...

Sam you need to keep him in as is not fair on other dogs. I know its hard not too but it will spread like wild fire
im just road walking him around the block, only 5 minutes a day..
Th great dane was outside the shop he didnt come close, we just were shocked to see it there
He has to go for a walk to do a poop and a wee, because he wont do it in the garden. e stay away from other dogs dont worry about that :P
Mom asked the vet yesterday if we are allowed to road walk him, the vet said its OK to road walk him because its realy mild form of kennel cough (e caught it just in time) we are allowed to walk him but he cant have contact or run with another dog incase they swap sliva etc... but vet said its ok to walk him 10-15mins a day... am only doing what the vet said im allowed to do.
He doesnt go near other dgs, we cross the road if i see one coming up the street. know its contageous because at the vets we had to go in through a seperate door, but apparently after she checked bloo, he said its really mild so he can go walks, but cant come in contact and he cant o training etc....
Silly Bloo! Danes are just big babies......nothing to be scared of. When Millie was 11 weeks old in puppy class there was a 6 month old Great Dane in class. During playtime she loved to play with him! She would be sectioned off to play with him alone as the other puppies were too scared to play with Millie and the Dane. That's my brave girl!

So see Bloo.....OES and Danes can be great friends! When you are well again, I say give it a try! :clappurple:
Also we need more pics. Hurry

Sam

Good to hear you are on top of the kennel cough - as you know it spreads like wild fire and so he cannot be in contact with another dog. You and your family should also be careful as the kennel cough is an air bourne disease and therefore it can stick to your clothes and could potentially travel to another dog.

I would suggest that if your neighbours have dogs to let them know that Bloo has Kennel Cough so they can watch out for any symptoms - its very similar to us as children getting chicken pots!

Unfortunately your vet is wrong as kennel cough is serious and there are no mild cases, you either have it or you dont. You have to keep him contained within your home environment, sorry for Bloo.

It stands to reason that you cant take him on walks or to shows until he is completely clear.

Check on the Kennel Club website and any others for information about the kennel cough.
Its not like when you go to rescue centres and some are coughing constantly, he coughs about 6 times a day, its like hes trying to get something of his chest. The vet said its more of a chest infection with a little cough in with it, i think thats why she said its okay for little walks...
Our neighbours got a dog but its a vicous little thing, we have a board up against the fence so they cant get to each other...
Hes on his 3rd day of antibiotics tomorrow, ive been putting him on his harness rather than his collar so it doesnt hurt his neck/throat as much. He isnt as bad as 2 days ago, so the eds must be working... hopefully he will get better soon...

Its a little hard not to take him out because im back at school tomorr and i have to take him to nans house during the day and walk him back home at night time... ill just carry a flag that says "stay well away i have germs" haha :D

Thanks for your thoughts, i appreciate them xxxxx

As long as humans canch it because hes been licking me all day :( Ive been coughing lots today, mom said im just paranoid and anxiety because i think ive got kennel cough! LOL :P :P :P
Sam I think it would be a good idea to Google Kennel cough and YES you can get it off an infected dog :lmt:

hope Bloo is better soon
