I guess today is get sick day.

My cat is throwing up hairballs, Jacob has the stomach flu, and I wouldn't be surprised if the dogs started throwing up too! Ugh!!!! I'm trying really hard to avoid getting sick too. Last time I had the stomach flu, I couldn't keep anything down for over 14 hours and I had to go to the hospital because I was so dehydrated.
Tips on avoiding the stomach flu would be appreciated.

Keep up on your vitamins and zinc. Wash your hands often and stay away from people who are 'suspect . These tips always work for me.

Frequent handwashing, keep you hands below our shoulders (away from your face), drink lots of water (swallow germs and let your stomach acid kill them), respect personal space, eat healthy, and get your rest.
Thanks guys. So far, I'm not feeling sick. Last time as soon as he was better, I got sick. Let's hope that doesn't happen again! Jacob is going on his 12th hour of being sick.
Update: Jacob went to the hospital because he wasn't getting better after many hours, they gave him an IV and some medicine. I'm still not feeling sick (all the handwashing must be paying off). We're back home now, and hopefully we can get some sleep.
I boost my own immune system with echinacea when the people around me are sick.
Of course also the hand washing, not breathing the same air (sounds weird, but it works!) and get enough SLEEP. Being properly rested can make a huge difference if you are able to fight off catching something, or if you become the next victim!

A reasonably well performed study showed that echinacea combined with Vit C was more effective than echinacea on it's own. I don't have a copy of the study but here is a report on it.

I take multivits which get me 50% of my recommended Vit C...so I hope that is helping!!!
