Growth

Wimston came to us the day after he turned 8 weeks and had his first vet visit 2 days later. He weighed 11.8 pounds. He had his booster visit yesterday, exactly 3 weeks later, and weighed 20.4 pounds (11 weeks).

He is a peeing, pooping, sleeping and eating machine! In bewteen those events he plays very hard!

Holy buckets, he'll pass Bond soon!

We've finally slowed down here....he was 69.4 on Monday, and just turned 7 months.
I'm predicting he surpasses 70# when I weigh him at class Thursday evening.
And Chewie's at an all time high of 74....so he might have a few more weeks as the BIG BOY!
Just last night Todd called Bond Chewie - he saw him under the table (standing) and was sure it was Chewie...nope!
Wow, it seems he will be a BIG boy! When my Forrest finally stopped growing, he topped out at 94 lbs in his jammers, and when in full coat,102 lbs.He is the largest OES, I have ever been owned by.
Gentle giant....cannot even swat at a fly!

Enjoy your handsome boy!

Dexter was 74 last October/November at 10/11 months, by Christmas he was 68. He has been as high as 72 since. We had full blood tests to include thyroid and all is fine. The vet says he is on the thin side but not enough to be concerned, show people say he needs to put on weight. He just doesn't care about eating, we;ve tried all kinds of things to get him to eat; yoghurt, cottage cheese, chicken, peanut butter, etc. We've got him back on puppy food (it's also easier with Winston), hoping to restart him but so far it's not doing much.
Usually a never fail option is shredded cheese, they cannot resist the smell.Mix a little in the food.
Cannot hurt to try it.

Vance, Chewie was that way until he was about 3 yrs old...not to make you lose hope or get really depressed.
I went back to puppy food in the mix too - I found the highest kcal/cup food I could get, so at least every mouth full was the most calories possible.
And when he was 3 and eating, he finished in a couple shows and majors! He just needed to grow up and mature, and the weight came on.
He's still not a food hound, but he does clean his bowl every time, even when traveling and competing. :)
There is hope! We've also been told by others that it should be a passing thing and will change when he matures more.

He ate very well when we had a rescue and hoped Winston would improve his eating but.................

I say he eats like a teenage girl and my wife, having once been a teenage girl, takes exception to that. (he skips or eats lightly at meals but rarely turns down a snack)

I can't wait to see them together again! Did you see the pics from the Paw? I posted some here, and they also are on our club FB page. You can see side by side how he compares to Chewie and other dogs. viewtopic.php?f=35&t=37630
I just did a quick measure on him - 23".
Chewie's 23.5", and he's still visually a bit shorter, so must be a pretty close measure.
How tall are the girls?
Be grateful for a light dawgy

Try picking up my looney 113lbs of wrigglyness I look back at the days when he was relatively small!
exactly what are you feeding archie at that walk up window????? :cow:

I was really surprised that he was 64 --I am still concerned that I am over feeding him. He is very solid and is getting some height now too. I have switched him from puppy food to adult food--and he is still eating well. He is getting to be a big boy now!
Ramsey is 16 weeks and weighs 32.6 pounds! He seems so much smaller than all of yours. He's definitely solid, and grows a steady 2.5-3 pounds every single week so far. He's on Fromm Large Breed puppy, 3 cups total a day! Maybe I'm underfeeding, haha.

He has his final, puppy vet appointment tonight, maybe he grew an extra few pounds. Haha.
Ramsey is sooo cute!

Robin
Thanks Robin! So is the handsome guy in your avatar! Kinda looks like Ramsey with the black, white paws, and black eye!
She is my Bella...love the eye patch pups.
