Shelter Information SafeHaven is a limited admission shelter that remains committed to the philosophy of not using euthanasia to control population. Once an animal is accepted at SafeHaven, there is no limit to the amount of time that animal can spend at the shelter. We typically house over 35 dogs and over 50 cats at any one time. We provide low-cost spay/neuter services for cats, volunteer opportunities, tours, a foster care program and lost and found services. SafeHaven adopts out over 1,300 cats and dogs annually. | Oh why or why did I have to look? This is one of those weird coincidences in life as although Safehaven in Oregon is hundreds of miles from me, I hear about it daily. You see my hero, Jody, who saved my One Eyed Mickey and sets out daily at 5 am to trap, neuter, release feral cats is connected to Safehaven and I have sent them money occasionally. This shelter is amazing so they even have mobile spay/neuter facilities to help keep the pet population under control. Lots of people dump their animals in this area. Least this boy is in great hands and now I have to bug Jody to keep an eye on this boy for me. Sigh Cartman! That was the name originally given to Merlin by his breeder. |
