That is so sweet!!

I'm glad she did well on her 1st hotel stay...I know I was happy last month when Bond did great too. It's a relief!
It really was a relief :go: . We bought the travel crate and she does fine with it...but she climbed up there with Peyton when it was time for bed. I told Peyton to be sure to put her in the crate and promptly fell asleep from exhaustion. When I woke up and realized they both slept like this all night...it was SOOOO sweet.

I am already expecting a fight when Peyton goes off to college ...thankfully Pru will be too big for a dorm room

It also made us even more excited for Sheepielooza - 'cause now we know what to expect and that we can do it!!
That is a completely adorable picture. Is the whole gang attending Sheepiepalooza?

Just to clarify.. our lovely cat Minnie will not be attending. I'm pretty sure shes good with that.

My girls will be disappointed. They came from a home with cats and love cats. Maybe we should get them a cat of their own, but we already have 3 dogs and 2 turtles in a teeny tiny house. We need a bigger house. And a bigger car. And a bigger paycheque....
Does Gracie bark at your turtles? Or are they in an enclosure/tank?
If there were turtles walking around, I think Bond would go Bonkers!

She hasn't met them yet. They have been hibernating in a big pond thingy in the basement. They will go into the outdoor pond around Sheepiepalooza time. I will be certain to take video of Gracie's introduction to Raffi and Pepi! I know that Mady barked her brains out at them and became quite alarmed when they crawled toward David. They are close to 25 years old now. Very cute, but hard to snuggle with.

Very cool! What kind are they? Have you had them their whole life?
Todd just helped a female snapper (not snuggly at ALL!) 8O to water earlier this week (she was on the road). She was scary looking.
Other than snappers, I think turtles are fun. :D :D
They are red eared sliders. David got them when he was a kid. They will outlive us!

lol, yes they will.
Because we are on a hill and surrounded by lakes/slough ground, we get a lot of turtles.
The day after I got Simon, I had him out in the yard. He went bonkers, was doing the hound bay "I got something treed!"....I ran over to see what he had. It was a TURTLE!
A female turtle was in the far edge of our yard, had dug her hole and was actively laying her eggs! And here is this insanely barking basset right over her, barking his brains out. She never flinched, never moved. It was impressive!
I removed him, and left mama turtle in peace. :D
That's such a sweet picture!!! Gracie had her first hotel experience this past weekend too. We were worried that she'd be pretty barky because she seems to have an even stronger guard-dog instinct than Mady. But she was super! She let out a couple of quick, low barks the 2nd night when we were in bed and lights out and there were some noisy, probably tipsy, young people walking down the hall. But aside from that, she was terrific.

p.s. I LOVE turtles :D and the lake at Sheepiepalooza where we go paddle-boating was full of red-eared sliders, a lot of baby ones, just a bit bigger than a quarter, look out for them this year!
How was the car ride?? Did you guys all do alright with that?

It was perfect. Once Mady shurtled Gracie to shift over and that was it, they found their spots and slept. We stopped at 3 hours, which seems to be when they need a stretch. So David thinks it is a victory, but I keep pointing out that we will actually need to bring a few changes of clothing and more food for St. Louis. He seems to feel I can get by with two t-shirts and a couple of pairs of knicker.
