I am a closet person, always have been. Never bored with my own company, but do social in short bursts. As Judi said last year "...don't confuse friendly with social" Thank you Judi, thats my mantra now too.
Ive been told by many people i come off as stuck up and stand offish when people first meet me but i am the complete opposite. Its just the way i look when im bored, which is all the time. I want to be doing something all the time. I will chat up almost anyone. I hate the outdoors, unless its 70 out.(ya im aware i live in wa state) i love fashion. I love to give, love to help people, total gamer chick, love country music, pop, and 80s hair bands. Im non confrentational but will stand up for myself if the situation calls for it. Dont confuse my kindness with weekness.
Well, I agree with Judi...BUT...I found you both FRIENDLY AND SOCIAL!!!

As far as me????

I depends on the situation..
With 'dog' people, I think I am outgoing, friendly, social and just want all to have a great time~~~

In any other situation, I am shy~ I don't go up to people, but if they come up to me, I will respond.

This is me...TYPICAL TEENAGER!!! :headbang:
 I love having fun, getting spoilt and getting my own way. Im not talkative to strangers. Im quite shy, but ill speak to people if they talk to me first. im not bothered about anything really :P I go with the flow...
Im more of a homely girl, dont go out to town with friends, i stay with mom and bloo, go agility, ringcraft etc... Id rather do doggie things than go out with mates. My pets are more important to me than friendships. Im very independant, have a lot of anxietys.
Some people find me a bit arragant as i dont speak much and i walk around looking `bored` and `grumpy`. Im not a nasty girl, i care about lots of things. I have to pass through this hormonal teenager stage. I have to admit...I dont like being 16 :( :sidestep:

In person, believe it or not, I'm extremely reserved and quiet. People often think I'm unfriendly or even "intimidating" :? .

In my case, the version of that phrase I'd use is: "Don't confuse quiet with shy " Given a reason, I'll talk your ears off...but much of the time I'm just not that interested in social interaction. Dogs, art, and certain embarrassingly geeky things will break right through my reserve, though!
In the closet, back behind the dirty laundry piled on the floor. I dislike social events! Give me a job with people around and I'm fine. Don't ask me to cocktail parties, baby showers, etc. Small talk isn't for me. So of course I'm considered a great listener. I'm actually more social than DH

The one time I was accused of being a gabber was by my DHs BIL. His wife (DH's sister) is a chatter box, non stop. I began talking because I couldn't stand listening to her one more minute! Then the husband accuses me of being gabby........he almost got to see grumpy! I do believe that was the last time we ever got together......hmmm :lmt:
In my family, I am the outgoing one, by far. I'll talk to anyone, anytime, and I have been that way since I was young.

Here's a story my dad used to tell. Up until I was six years old, we lived next door to the Freund family, who had much older kids, and owned a local contractor business. We moved away then, but stayed in the same area. Twenty years later, my dad called them to do some repairs on his new house, and the son happened to be the one sent to do the work. Our last name was unique, and he asked my dad if we used to live next door to their family on Hickory St. When my dad said "yes", Mr. Freund said he remembered that my dad had a daughter. My dad said that actually he had two daughters, and two sons. Then Mr. Freund said that he remembered "the blonde one" because she used to talk to him through the fence when he was in the driveway fixing his car. Yes, that would be me. :D

Hilarious videos.
At first I can be shy but once I have spent some time with you (and it can be 5 minutes or 5 hours depends on the situation) I can become very outgoing. I'm not very good at small talk but if we have something in common than I'm a talker.
I am a fairly outgoing person. I love to socialize and get together with people who have some of the same interest as I do. I work in a 'people' business and love educating and empowering others. I like meeting new people and am interested in learning about their lives-- however I tend to listen more than talk when in a group of people that I don't know well. I enjoy giving to others and am inspired by people who want 'to make a difference'!

But at the same time I am happy at home with my own company and my animals. I am at a very content stage of my life! I truly enjoy my family and continue to enjoy my children even though they are young adults now.

I love to read--enjoy lots of different types of music-and enjoy theater especially musicals--I love fashion and home decor and like to shop. I appreciate old things and like to peruse through antique and junk shops.

I have always had an interest in sports--love sports at the college level and particularly enjoy football and women's basketball--I watch the men too during the playoffs! :D

I really enjoy learning new things and I work on personal growth daily. I enjoy new experiences and love finding a new interests to challenge me.
I'm a closet person. Solitary. I like to stand back and watch, which can sometimes be taken for unfriendliness. I am very quiet like my dad.

If we start talking about my favorite subjects or get a drink or two in me...then you can't shut me up...again, like my dad.
I too am a closet person. People think I'm stuck up, but really I'm just shy. I usually feel like What I have to say, nobody wants to hear about. I 'm with Pam, after a drink or 2, you can't get me too shut up.

I am stubborn person & love to talk people also I hate bullies . My mother & aunt told me when I was little I use to pile my toys up in a corner & not let anyone go near them. I like most type of music ( not R & B also Motown ) also used to blow-dry my hair about twice a day. I am a bit of a gamer & now into dog showing. I bored very fast & that gets me into trouble. If I was a muppet I would be a cross. A bit of fozzie bear, animal and Professor Bunsen & I am no closet person ( Maybe when I was about 13 to 18 )
I have no interest in large groups or small talk, unless it involves horses or dogs. I am my own best friend. I'm considered a wonderful conversationalist though, by people who confuse talking with listening. I'm not shy, I'm not quiet, I just am usually not interested in what other people are talking about. I know nothing of pop culture, have zero interest in sports, the weather is pretty obvious and I am not interested in your children or grandchildren unless they have 4 legs. I love to read and do needlework. Most of my hobbies are solitary. I'm happy to stand on the outside and look in.

That said, I think it's hysterically ironic that we all (well, most of us) say we are closet or introverted, yet get us together at an event like Sheepiepalooza, and we never shut up! One of my best memories ever (and I'm oooooold,) is sitting at the picnic table last year at the hotel with a bag of popcorn, some sort of alcohol, and a group of us gabbing until the wee hours.

I guess it really depends on the people I'm with!
I think the gist of this thread I'm getting, is that I should open up the Sheepiepalooza Hotel Picnic Table Bar early and be very liberal pouring the drinks! (God I love those really loosey-goosey Missouri drinking laws! )

I may have to get there Thursday and stake my seat on the bench.

It's a great place to be! There's a big huge field on one side of the the Inn that became the unofficial Sheepiepalooza Dog Park, with a picnic table to set up the bar
