Belle's sporting a new summer 'do

And boy is she cute in her 1" puppy cut!

It took a couple hours but she looks great, if I do say so myself. Once I got the hang of using the clippers it was a breeze.

My one helpful hint is if you're working outside, make sure the wind is blowing AWAY from you.

I love being able to sort of see her eyes again and I hope she'll be more comfortable.

She'll really enjoy her new do, especially if we have a summer :D
Hi,

Make sure you post pics so we can all ohhhh and ahhhh at Belle's new do!
Don't you find they seem to perk up once all that hair is removed...least it seems to me that they do.

Yes pictures are in order.
Have to clip Drez down yet, too. Was waiting for after the picnic so she could be cute and fluffy. But now I have to wait until I can stand over the table for that long. Getting old and decrepid s&*%%#$#!
Chris
I just clipped Panda ... all I can say is thank goodness its over...at least for the next 2 1/2 months .... down to 1/4''...the only thing that I didnt do was her nails, thats her biggest challenge. She HATES to have her paws touched...spa day can only go on for so long...3 1/2 hours...my limit..we dont have a grooming table...so the back patio floor is it with the wind blowing, back hurting, and a dog that refuses to stand still for more than 30 sec..........
Stand? Ha! Belle doesn't stand. I'm sure the neighbors found it amusing when I was trying to get her to lie on the other side! I had a heck of a time getting up from the patio when I was done. Getting old is a bear . . . actually, I think Chris said it best!

I'll probably end up clipping it shorter when it gets hotter . . .

Hi Jil,

Can't wait to see Belle's new summer do. Still can't Avatar Beau's picture. Thanks for posting pictures from the Philly Picnic. I have some pictures of you and Belle that I will send you.

I took Beau into Petco to get his nails trim and they said that he didn't need them done. They said to get a strong emery board and round them down.

As of Sunday, Beau will no longer be on puppy food. He's a big boy now and is going to eating Adult. They grow so fast! :(

I'm off the weekend of June 10-12th if you and Jill and Holly want to get together. Let me know.

Karen and Beau
Karen,

I bet that would take a while with an emery board - try a dremel, it works great.

Send me Beau's pic - this laptop has a photo program, maybe I can make it smaller. I don't remember how I did mine, but it needs updating, too.

That sounds like a good weekend for us . . . Jill . . . Holly . . . how 'bout you?

j
That's good for me. Does that mean I have to give Clyde a bath? He's been helping put in the patio and it shows! ;)
Naw, Belle prefers her men rugged!
Lol. I wouldn't exactly call him rugged. Rumpled maybe. Oh, and definitely smelly. He kind of smells like an old shoe :( I'm too tired from working outside today to give him a bath. For some reason, he's spastic today too. I thought crating him while I vacuumed would calm him down and, instead, the vacuum upset him so much, he peed.

I need a nap.
I wanna come to Michigan!!!!!!
I'm still up north  However...there is a show in Traverse City that weekend....maybe lots of sheepies....and it's only 15 minutes away....and I don't want to go by myself :( . Sunday I have to work because most of my employees are graduating(darn them for wanting an education)
And Mandy wants to come to MI  she has to bring Norman and Carl.
Jil-you sound like me, I do something then can't remember how or what  I spend a lot of time trying to remember things.
Holly,
You're not ever coming home, are you? :( How long of a drive is it from civilization? I mean, southeastern Michigan? :)
Hey we wear shoes up here  Depending on my starting point 3-4 hours if 75 isn't one lane most of the way  I'm planning on 2008 but that may change :(
