Results of Brick's blood work inside

The vet called me today to review Brick's blood work.
She said his ALT, AST, and GGT were elevated.

She's attributing it to him chewing on that black walnut shell.
According to her, the toxins in the shell inflamed his liver.

His ALT was 319 on a scale of 5-107 U/L.
His AST was 87 on a scale of 5-55 U/L.
His GGT was 24 on a scale of 0-14 U/L.

I read online that if 2 or more of these enzymes are more than 3 times the upper limit, that can be bad.
He only has 1 that is just under the 3x limit.
(I checked the levels to his previous levels from other blood draws and they are elevated)

So she put him on Denosyl (S-Adenosylmethionine), 225mg. He gets 2.5 pills once a day, 1 hour before dinner.
He'll be on this for 12 days. I have to call them back just before I run out. The vet may elect to keep him on the Denosyl or end it and re-sample his blood. I think this stuff is more of a supplement than a medication.
Either way, we'll check his blood again after he goes off of this stuff and see where his liver enzymes are. Hopefully they'll be back to normal.

So keep everything crossed for Bricky-boy that this is just something that needs to work out of his system or that it's just an anomoly.
We appreciate it.
