Up date on surgery

Ok, surgery is schedule for April 6th, at 7 am, I have somebody line up to post an update on the forum a soon they know anything.

Doctor say that my chances are really good because I did not have a heart attack or a struck before the surgery, he explain everything in detail of what is going to do and give all the statistics about recovery survival etc. which they look really good.

He say that he is going to replace two arteries and going to take a look, the other one is just 30% block so he probably will not do anything about that one but medication, will see after the surgery.

He is going to keep me in the hospital for 4-6 days depending on how quick I bounce back and then is 4-6 weeks before I can be back at work, and of course some physical therapy after that.

I know is going to be cutting it close to Sheepiepalooza but I think I be able to attend at least I hope :-)

My friend will post how I doing and the address and room # where am going to be, her name is Kim, Kathy my partner is going to be a basket case so I dont think she will be up to post anything at least for a few days.

I finally work out the courage to tell my brother who is going to tell my mom and then I will talk to her, I know I could not talk to her with out bursting crying so I was bad and ask him to do it, I will talk to her later on, I know I am going to catch hell for doing it that way but I just dont want to cry and dont be abe to say anything I think that will stress her more.

After I get home I will be able to do some stuff, I will making a lot of fuzzies for Sheepiepalooza and 1 or 2 more surprise items for the auction too !

The good think is that I be able to go back to work until the day before surgery and get some income, money is going to be a little bit tight for me.

I wanted to thank all of you and wanted to tell you that I appreciated all the prayers and get well wishes, I know that with out the people on this forum, I could not keep my sanity and keep going.

You Guys are awesome, you are my family here in the states, thank you so much !!!

April 6th is next Friday...Good Friday for Catholics. A very good day! You will be just fine. Doctors are right. Heart attackes and any er surgery is never as good as when its scheduled and they know in advance what they are getting into. This is an absolute life saver for you!

Yes, in hospital stay is a few weeks. The first few days you will be out of it and probably in intensive care. That's because they want a one on one nurse after surgery so that is a good thing. Don't be freightened by stuff going on when you wake up in recovery. Before you know it you will be in a regular room and feeling good! Probably in better shape than ever before. This is all good stuff. These doctors do these by passes every day. To us it is a HUGE deal and to them its just another by pass. So don't be scared. My Mom had a tiny little scar, so small no one would even notice. And really no pain after surgery at all. Tired, yes. So you will need your rest. But c'mon, you can milk that and get lots of attention and care for a while!

Keep us posted! let someone on the forum in the area know what hospital you will be in...in case they want to check and see how you are doing and your friend doesn't get to tell us...At least someone should know here. In case you need some help with the dogs...

Sending our sheepie hugs and prayers and good thoughts :ghug:
oh..Monica..you can count on your USA family~~~ prayers and healing white light being sent to you....

:ghug: :ghug: :ghug: :ghug: :ghug: :ghug: :ghug:

Everything sounds good Monica.

Thoughts and prayers are with you.

:ghug: :ghug: :ghug: :ghug:
It all sounds like good news. And once you have the surgery you will be a new woman. Fuzzies will be flying out of your house. Having the surgery in early April will mean you can join us for Sheepiepalooza. You will probably have to sit down relax and enjoy yourself but as long as you are there, that's the important thing. I can hardly wait to meet you in person.

Take care until your surgery and count on your U.S. (make that Worldwide) family for support and strength.

Hugs and prayers for you and your family :ghug:
All of us at crazy acres will be thinking of you friday!! Bob(my hubby had his after a cardiac cath and is is better if you have not had a stroke or infarction (heart attack) that was his situation.) You will need a pillow to brace your chest so when you breath deep or cough it helps pad it. You will not be able to sit in the front seat of a car because of the air bags. I felt like I was driving Miss Daisey :D

we are all here for you :wag:
Wishing you the best of luck and a full and quick recovery!! :crossed: :crossed:
We are all here for you Monica, praying that your surgery and recovery go well. Thanks for the update, and don't forget to have someone post the hospital and room number! Best wishes being sent to you and your family at this difficult time. :ghug: :ghug: :ghug: :ghug: :ghug: :ghug:
:hearts: I'm glad you are more at ease having your questions answered. And BIG BIG :ghug: :ghug: to Kathy as well. You both are in my thoughts and prayers. Now, your mom.............that's going to be tough. After all, you are her baby and it is OK TO CRY!! :hearts: I think no matter how old you are, you always need your mom. :) Take care, and I'll be in touch. :hearts: :ghug:
Sounds like you have faith in your doctor so that's a good thing. We will all be thinking of you on the day of your surgery.
Wishing you the best of luck and a full and speedy recovery!

:ghug: :ghug: :ghug:

Cindy
Best wishes and prayers that your surgery and recovery will be the best, Monica.

:ghug: :ghug: :ghug:
:crossed: :crossed: Wishing you best of luck on the surgery!! :crossed: :crossed:
Hurdle #1 jumped over. Glad you don't have to wait that long for surgery.

As always, I'm here to lend support, answer ?'s, and a shoulder to cry on.

Big :ghug: :ghug: :ghug: :ghug: to you and Kathy!!!!

I am sure that it will go well and that you will be back to your usual self soon and I am happy that they are not waiting around to fix you up all shiny and new! Hugs to you and to Kathy-tell her that she has my sympathies, as I went through the same thing when David was at the Heart Institute. So give her a big hug too-I am sure that she will be trying to be brave and supportive for you.
:ghug:
:ghug: to you and Kathy. And I'm so glad you are scheduled so quickly! My aunt had one of the first bypasses ever done by Dr Michael DeBakey in Texas years and years ago, and she survived for many many years until something else finally took her in her 80's. And think how far medicine has come in the last 60 years! Prayers for you to have a very successful surgery and a speedy recovery. And like others requested, please have someone post the hospital and your room number. Some Sheepies out there just might want to send you get well licks!
