My daughter brought home a starving, muddy, mess of a puppy in May of 2002. She was told that this rescued pup was purebred Old English Sheep dog. Though, I have heard of the breed and seen many on TV, he is the first one I have ever met in person. I am finding it difficult to find specfic information. Being from the old school, I have trouble with cm instead of inches. He is 29inches at the shoulder. Can anyone tell me if he is unusually big for a sheep dog.

I have read that this breed doesn't shed much. He sheds. He looks like a sheep dog until he gets shaved. Are Old English Sheep Dogs suppose to look like Irish Wolfhounds under all that hair?
Do you have any pictures of your dog, either in coat or shaved?

Also, there are lots of pictures of sheepdogs on the other half of this site at www.oes.org . Either go there and click on "Old English Sheepdog Photo Galleries", or the direct link is http://www.oes.org/html/oes_photos.html
