Rescue help needed

Hi,
I have never posted here before so I am hoping this is the right place to post. I am Carol Lake, and I have a small rescue here in Missouri for OES. I have been contacted about an auction where there are 5 OES females and 1 male needing to be rescued. I am sure these are puppy mill breeding stock. I only have myself and 1 foster home. Is there anyone out there that would like to help foster one of these dogs? I will provide all the vet care and grooming needed. If you would be willing to help, please call me. 816-210-1881. My website is http://MoKanOESrescue.org .

Thanks,
Carol

That is a lot to take in at once. Carol does a very nice job covering Missouri, unfortunately there are a lot of puppy mills in this state and few rescue volunteers.

Carol, check your email from me.
I am just seeing this post at midnight, so I will call you in the morning Carol.
Let us know how this works out and I pray help will be found for them.

Marianne
First of all, I want to thank you all for you offers to foster or help, you gave me the support and encouragement I needed to even get myself to the auction!

As you all know, rescue is not in the business of buying dogs and for me to have gotten any of the dogs, that is what it would have been. The highest price for the OES was $1,850 and the lowest price was $700. She spent $7,875 total. One breeder bought all the OES.

It was quite an experience to be at the auction, I'm not sure I will ever go again, but as we all know when a sheepie is in need, we all want to help.

Thanks again,
Carol

carol,
thanks for all you do and for letting us know how this turned out.

:wag:
"one breeder bought all the OES"
Does this mean they are just going to be put back in the puppy making business? Or is she going to see that their lives improve? :crossed:
These poor dogs will be in the puppy mill business. I am so sad for them... The man who was selling the OES, was selling because
OES are too much work to take care of. They were fairly well groomed, social and really nice dogs. I can hope the new owner who paid close to 8K for all 7 OES will give them a decent life, producing puppies twice a year. What a stupid thing for me to say, no, their life stinks. And they were sweet nice typical OES.... I am very sad.
It absolutely stinks    I really wish we could save them all........

Thank you Carol for going to the auction and trying to help. If there is anything I can do in the future---transport, foster, anything...you have my number.

Thanks again for all you do.
  So very sad for those poor dogs! Thanks for trying to make a difference for them.
