How Much Bigger?

Benson is a few days shy of 9 months old, 22" tall and just about 60 pounds. I was just curious how much your guys grew as they approached the 1 year old mark?

Near the end in height but he'll bulk up, chest expands, bones seem to "harden" (probably just more muscle). He's still "pup"...he now will become "dog". His movement will become stronger as muscles bulk....he's long past the "teenager" movement.

Now as for his brain........well, that' take time

Yup! That's my experience. Henry grew another two inches in height very slowly between 9 months and 2 1/2. It was almost imperceptible except that he was always a bit smaller than Maggie then it wasn't clear then, one day, like magic, he was the same height as her. He'll be 3 in April and he is definitely dog not puppy and growing brains. :hearts:
We just went to the vet this week, and Caitlyn will be 10 months in two weeks. Her weight was 60.2 pounds and her height was 22.5 inches. So I'd say that Caitlyn and Benson are on the same path.

Zoey was 60 pounds for a long time. She was 50 when we got her at 5-6 months and the first vet visit in two weeks she was 60 pounds. She seemed to hold that weight until she was well over a year. Then one day, at the vet, she was a whooping 85!!! She's been there since about 2 years.

They all grow at their own rates. Bloo is 1 in 3 weeks, and he is 26" inches from shoulder to floor. He isnt a muscly lad but he is very tall. Someone told me he will start to bulk out in the next 8 months . :)
It's going to depend a bit on her line. She seems a pretty decent size/weight ratio, and being a girl, she's not as likely to really mature late and bulk up as much as a male would do.

She may grow an inch on the height side (or even none at all) and will definitely fill out some. They just don't keep that slim, snakey puppy body after they "grow up". She just may be a bit less bulky or more bulky, depending on her genes. :D
I had Dahlia at the vets today for her vaccinations. She is almost 15 months and 79lbs. She is extremely muscular since she does a lot of hiking/hill climbing. In early December, she was 69lbs, so she has put on 10 lbs in the last 3 months. :twitch:

What a nice size. Were it me I'd wish she'd stay there (!) but she'll probably grow a bit more, height and weight both. One is not the magic age, though - they're still very much puppies at that stage and you really don't know what you'll end up with. My girls can add a little bit of height and definitely bulk up till about age 3, even their heads keep growing till about that age, but more so in males who can still be maturing until 4-5! A pretty slow maturing breed, but that does depend a bit on the lines.

You just never know.... even within lines, even within the same litter... take Langley and Willy for example. Langley turned out to be a compact boy, not sure how much he weighs now but I know he's not as big as his littermate Willy. Willy, who turned 3 not long ago, is just now starting to bulk up and lose the lanky teenager look. He is HUGE though, 29 inches tall and 29 inches long. He weighs just under 100 lbs so I expect over the next year he'll finish up around 110-115. He's all muscle. He is also proof positive that it doesn't matter how big they are at birth, he was only 8 ounces at birth (most of my pups are between 16-22 ounces at birth).

I do think with the girls though what you see at a year isn't going to change a whole lot.
I'm curious how much all your pups weighed at 8 weeks or around that time. Currently Ramsey is 8 weeks and 12 pounds, I can't wait to see how he grows over the next few months!
Dahlia was 20lbs at 8 weeks. I think she was about 2lbs at birth. And, today she is 79lbs and growing at 15 months.
Her momma is 75lbs and her poppa is 90lbs.

That is exactly what Benson weighed at 8 weeks.
WoW! 20 pounds! My parents have a Newfie, he was 25 pounds at 8 weeks, that's huge! I'll have to compare him to Benson as he grows, what a cute avatar of him!
