I hate high definition television

So, it works when you are watching the BBC Life series, or any nature show. Other than that, I despise HD television. I can barely watch Coronation Street these days. I do not need to see every pore and blemish on every face. Makeup can only cover so much. I wish I could turn it off and look at people as they should be, all fuzzy and hazy. I miss the old days.

I watch Coronation Street too! I used to watch it on peasant vision and when I got satalite I felt the same way. Wooo wee even the young ones don't look so good. Shhh don't saying anything I watch on Sunday online :) especially you crew from across the pond we are almost a whole year behind!

Tanning and smoking. Not a good combination in a lady of a certain age, when it comes to your skin. And the young ones are all pimply. Ick.
haha her voice haha oh my so raspy. ANd her pottery fetish right now. bahaha

Oh what characters. Well I guess if we wanted pretty and sappy and strange story lines we could always watch North American soaps. I'll take "The Street" anyday. Nothing like a good slapper fight on the cobbles.
I love that the characters aren't botox beautiful. But I still hate that I know which ones had chicken pox as children. Ick.
There may be a setting in your TV called "sharpness"... although that's not likely to work.
You could sit farther away from the set.
You could watch on a non-HD channel.
If you have a recorder with options, some may allow you to save as non-HD.
You could videotape your tv with a hand-held VHS camcorder and watch the show later.

:roses:
I AM tempted to switch recording to a non-HD channel. I realize American tv and movies tend to be very highly processed, but not even "regular" people look as bad in closeups as a lot of the cast of Corrie does in HD. :twitch:
Now I need to record Coronation Street to see what these people look like :lmt:
Here is a sneek peek I had to be very careful we are a year behind.

Deedre smoking her fag.

Looks like a violent show

We watch quite a few British shows, but usually more their suspense/drama rather than soap/drama which I am guessing "Corrie" falls into.
Coronation Street is the world's longest-running TV soap opera.
And in fact, there is at least one actor who has been in the show since the very start (and his character Ken, should have run off with that lady a year ago, instead of being stuck in his horrible, practically abusive relationship with Deirde!!! )

I hate Gail too! I also have a really funny photo of a friend of mine, with British background, he was living in London for 2 years recently, he doesn't watch Corrie but his mom does and he is aware of it. He was at a theatre in London and ran into the actor who plays Gail, he got a photo with her, it was so funny, I will post it tonight!

Hey, that looks like camilla in the background!!
Ah, I do love Corrie! And I think we are only six months behind now, not a year. We are catching up, with five episodes a week, but five hours of any tv show is too much, even Corrie. Dogs get groomed during Corrie. They know by the theme song what is in store for them.
