Groomed Caitlyn yesterday!!!

Caitlyn and I made a trek up to Marilyn’s yesterday for another day of grooming lessons. We spent the better part of 6 hours there and Caitlyn was a GREAT little subject for us. We did a full brush out, trimmed her pad hair, toe nails, found an embarrassingly huge mess in one ear. We cleaned that out and then moved on. We then did a ‘whites only’ wash, blow dry and another full brush out. While there, Caitlyn got to play with Jose and Mariah for a bit too. She REALLY likes the ‘older’ kids!

I was smart and brought my own tack box and this was very smart. This way, Marilyn and I could do a full-on tag-team routine on Caity. We were both brushing away and having fun all the while. I also learned that I do have most of the right tools and what I still need to get. I have all the basics and need to pick up some little items yet.

We also got to play with Marilyn’s shiny new electric table. I only have one word for that table – JEALOUS!!! That table is AWESOME. Caitlyn like being able to jump on and off when it was lowered and it was a breeze to simply step off into the elevated tub when it was raised up. Marilyn’s very lucky to have this new tool.

Here are the few photos I took.

This is Marilyn just starting to dry Caitlyn, straight out of the tub.

Here is Caitlyn on the new table.

Daddy, get me out of here!

Almost done drying…

Done drying and outside in the dog run.

In the end, I learned a lot more and Caitlyn was show ready. And she wasn’t mad at me for putting here through all this. Having a mentor like Marilyn is truly priceless. She’s a huge wealth of experience and wisdom. Thanks for sharing with us Marilyn!!!

Caitlyn looks fabulous!!

Oh I so wish I had someone to teach me!! You are so lucky!

Make a list of what all you have in your tack box and I will just copy!! :D
She looks so cute! How do you keep her mouth so white and clean!! :D :D :D

She looks so sweet! :P I love them when they look like that, all fluffy and stuff! xx
She looks gorgeous, but then she always does. It is great that you get such support as you learn to groom. It really helps. I have had a few such sessions with Amber. Still have so much to learn, though!
Vance & Caitlyn are both very good students! I told him to wear grubby clothes as we'd be working. He listened. :yay: I forgot to tell him to bring a change of clothes for after Caitlyn's bath  I like students that aren't afraid to work along with me. I think they learn alot more that way than just watching. Wish I'd have had more time to do more trimming than we did but I got it started & Wanda can put the finishing touches on the trim job. Almost 6 hours is a long time for a young dog too put up with. But Caitlyn did just wonderful. Not too sure about me! Let's just say I was feeling my age! :(

Caitlyn looks beautiful as always. Her expressions are priceless, what a cutie. I'll be interested in your tack list also. Do you use anything special on her very white face?
:hearts: :hearts: she looks great! :clappurple: How awesome you have someone so close to learn from! Sounds like it was a great learning experience!
Caitlyn looks great!

Great pics! A change of clothes for after the bath? I don't bother wearing anything more than underwear when I bath Ru.. I guess that's a little inappropriate for your students though

Actually, Marilyn is not what anyone would really consider close... It's a three and a half hour drive - 178 miles. But spending time with her is worth every minute behind the wheel. Caitlyn either sleeps or chews on whatever I have in the back seat for her. She really doesn't mind... least not until we hit rumble strips! We found out Saturday that she's not a big fan of the strips that are full lane width. She was actually hopping like she was walking on hot concrete! Funny, but I felt bad for her.

I groom in my PJ's, then throw them in the wash!
