New Photos of Miss Abby & Update

We had a great vet visit yesterday! Abby had her stitches removed - her incisions healed up perfectly. She is now at 5.5 lbs and gaining daily. In a few more weeks we are going to start adding less water to her gruel and within the next few months she should be able to eat regular kibble. Fortunately (well for me anyways) the vet gave me the green light to give her a nice bath and she no longer has to be confined to her pen. She loves having her freedom back! She is teething and chewing on everything in site, including all of our toes! You would never know she just had two major surguries less than 2 weeks ago.

In regards to her size, the vet said there is a good chance she will be a much smaller dog as an adult. Other than that she will be 100%.

Here are some photos I just took - it was next to impossible to get her to sit for a moment (she is so full of beans right now)

Well...there is a possibility she will be a minisheepie, but like I keep telling her, nothing wrong with being petite

As seen in the photos, small in stature does not mean small in personality or "attitude." :roses:
The last two pictures make me melt!! Love her outfit. How can someone not love that little thing!! I'm sure you said but I missed it... were you keeping her?
Abby, you are the most amazing Pint-sized Pretty Puppy ever!

You know, Abby has given me (and I'm sure many of us) quite the emotional rollercoaster ride! Seeing pictures of her first and just falling in love, then you finding out about her defect, and the gut-wrenching realization you had no realistic choice but to euthanize her which just hurt my soul  , to the wonderful, dramatic, miraculous cavalry-to-the-rescue from the forum to give her a chance to fight for her life :cheer: to two days of edge-of-the-seat tension over whether the surgery would work and she would pull through, to this happy, fashionable, adorable, bouncing ball of puppy energy... Wow. These pictures make me very deeply happy. :aww: :aww: :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay:

Yeah, she'll be small, she's missed out on many weeks' growth....but with that fighting attitude, she'll be a pistol.

She's going to outgrow here clothing very quickly.
What wonderful news! She is such a little doll :hearts:

peg & howie

David, well said. What a roller-coaster ride! I think everyone needs to meet her personally... :lmt: ...I wonder if there's an event that gathers all the OES forum members together in the same please at the same time... :lmt: ...

I'll have to get back to you on that...teehee :sidestep:
:hearts: :hearts: :hearts: :hearts: Abby is adorable, she is wickedly cute with her pink paws, and sassy jacket from Aunt Allison. My favorite pic is "the look", she is so full of attitude :yay: And I didn't realize she has the brightest blue eye(s)!!! I'm in love with her :hearts: :hearts: :hearts: :hearts:

Amber, I have not seen you before now, but you look just like I pictured~very pretty and all wrapped up in puppy love :wag:
She is one of the cutest sheepies and a little Fashonesta as well!!! What a tough little cookie. Abby will probably make up for 2 weeks of lost activitity   Amber, what are the chances you could post pictures of her littermates with her to see the difference. Of course, they would have to come with a "LOVE" Warning :hearts:
OMG she is absolutely adorable and I love her outfit and am in love with her teeny self! So glad to hear she is doing well! I think David said it the best. Thank you so much for the update!
Like everyone else I am in LOVE and grateful to all the forum members for giving this girl a fighting chance. David you did describe how we all felt during that time.

I was feeling a little down today for no particular reason, but I have one HUGE smile on my face now

:cheer: :yay: :cheer: :excited: :cheer: :yay: :cheer: :excited: :cheer: :yay: :cheer: :excited: :cheer:

I counted on that; I recall how quickly my girls grew. So I made her 2 sizes of coats. I also recall how filthy puppies get, so I made two in each size, thinking that way one could be in the wash while the other was actually on the piggie in question.

Amber, I'm SO glad to see little Abby up and about and doing great!!!! Thanks for the updates; they're always great to read!
Allison gorgeous little coat for the petite Miam, she looks so girly in that and what a sweetheart and what a lovely accessory made for her for her re-cooperation, well done and brilliant and she looks adorable in it. :ghug:

Amber so estactic, happy, thrilled, excited etc, it all turned out absolutely fantastic, talk about lows and high with this special poppet when you first posted on her and for all to give abby a second chance to thrive, what a special baby she is and kudos to all for this babys second chance and the wonderfull outcome that has occured, luv ya all!! :hearts:

So glad to see photos of her and hear now how she is blooming, a girl worth the fight to thrive and bloom, an amazing situation which like a fairy tale has a GREAT and HAPPY outcome. :aww:

(I'm ever so grateful to the support staff of friends that i HAVE met here)....Lungs a bit clearer.... Dee came home last night, Caly will probably be able to come home tomorrow or Monday from vet...... and the dynamic duo will be back by end of week. My sincere thanks to all who have helped with me trying to get over pneumonia...trust me it is very much appreciated and thankful! I miss my kids, but to be able to sleep to heal has /is helpful!!

Seeing Abby's sister Lucy's spunk, I am not at all surprised that sweet little Abby is such a strong fighter. Lucy is unbelievable -- energetic, daring, and comical. Bounces and runs everywhere. She's 15 pounds of pure sweet energy. She and 4 month Ricky play non-stop but somehow Lucy always ends up with the toy or the treat (or both), and she even claimed possession of the hole Ricky dug -- just shoved him out of the way and laid in it! It is hilarious to watch. I am sure her sister Abby has that same strength and gumption. :hearts: :hearts: :hearts:
Loved all the pictures and she looks so good. Love her shirt and it looks great on her, she is a diva. Also thought the one of you holding her was precious.
She is so cute :hearts: and I'm very happy that she is doing so well. :hearts:
yes are you keeping Abby????? wondering minds want to know

Unfortunately, we have a limit where we are currently living. While we were actively looking to move, that has been put off since Steve has been laid-off. So while that has been the furthest from my mind right now (a home for Abby) it will more than likely be something I will ultimately have to do in the future.
Such a blessing... and so many long hours you've
surely spent to help her get to this point.
She's a precious little imp. :aww:
"pocket sheepie". Priceless :yay:

So glad all is well. Good thing she has all that attitude... She needed
Every bit of it

:cheer: Amber! So glad it all turned out so well. :cheer:
