Alabama isn't too far a drive though? Will you be bringing Pru? The Red Hot Chili Peppers are hardly spring chickens either so you should be ok!  |

| Seems like a pretty good lineup. I saw Dave Matthews, the Chili Peppers, and G. Love & Special Sauce at Woodstock '99. Good time. Interesting that Steve Winwood & Randy Newman will be there, too. Didn't know The Flaming Lips were still together. And Coheed & Cambria are pretty big right now. Chris Cornell too, huh? He was great with Soundgarden but not so much on his own or with Audioslave (the remnants of Rage Against the Machine). Sounds like fun. |

Went to Bonnaroo the first 3 (or 4? ) years but haven't been able to attend since (decided to have Piper and focused on that and then she arrived...and well, the rest is history... ).We attended this festival last year (this is it's 3rd year...1st year was a bust due to severe weather). It was a blast! We took Piper and she was a hit (a dancin' 3 year old is always a hit ). So, we did years of Bonnaroo in the pastures of Tennessee (which is a blast!)...but there is something about having a festival on the beach  There is just something special about a group of people getting together to listen to a variety of music. I discovered Michael Franti there last year and he is nothing I listen to normally...and I LOVE him now! We have discovered such great music at festivals of bands that play the smaller stages. Over 10 years ago we got the chance to see a newcomer that was starting to get chatter but no "air play" on the radio...it was Jack Johnson...and again...the rest is history  That is why I love going to these...you never know what may transpire and you get the privilege of watching people do what they love. Something about watching a musician (of any kind) play their instrument just mesmerizes me. I think I am envious ...as I have zero talent...but watching is enough. Music just makes everything better I wish we could take Pru, but no pets allowed. It is not a far drive and my mom lives within 30 minutes, so she will stay at her house. It's not a far drive, but it is 3 solid days (morning, noon, and night) of music in the sun...so hopefully I remember my sunscreen and don't look like a lobster when we drive up to St. Louis.. So here's to 2 weekends of beautiful weather  and spending time with people of like interest!!   and  I AM SOOOO EXCITED!!!! it's going to be hard to go back to my mundane worker bee lifestyle afterwards |

| You are not the only crazy one! 3 yrs ago we drove from Minnesota to NY for daughter Lisa's college graduation...then continued on to Cape Cod , P-Town for a family vacation. Drove home.... THEN, I got up the next morning and drove to St Louis! I felt like I had the flattest butt ever!  |
