Dryers
I can get one for just under $100. I'm sure a more expensive dryer would do better but I don't want to spend much if any more than that. Dex gets bathed weekly and we will add another OES in the next 60-90 days who will also get bathed weekly. Comments or suggestions anyone? Thanks in advance. |

| I wouldn't cut corners on a dryer. I'd recommend getting the most that you can afford. How long do you keep their coats? If you keep them short it doesn't really matter. I bought a cheaper dryer and regret my purchase. If you keep them in a long coat then the stand alone dryers are best so they can dry sections while they sit and you brush. I guess it just depends on how long you keep their coats. |
| I agree, get the best you can afford. We started out with a Metro 4hp and it was loud and still took forever to dry one dog. Sold it and got a Double K Airmax. It's quiet and a decent dryer and portable for shows, etc, but still takes awhile to dry an OES in full coat. A K9 II or K9 III would be great for multiple dogs but are very loud and do cost several times more than you had in mind. A stand dryer would be perfect if you had space for one since you have hands-free capability. Sorry, not familiar with the Bear. It's relatively new. |
| Dexter's Bear dryer arrives tomorrow; I'll post what I think of it by this weekend though I don't have a reference to compare it to so.............. |
| The dryer arrived and we used it. I don't have anything to compare it to but I am pleased with how well it did. I dried him with 2 towels then the dryer had him done in a little less than 45 minutes. I used one at a dog wash once that didn't do near as well and scared him. He seemed to enjoy this one, all except his feet, he didn't like the air blowing on them but he will get used to it. We got the dryer for almost 50% off. |

| Looks like it would be a nice portable dryer. We have one (different brand) about that size for when we show and travel and for spot drying. It was my primary dryer for awhile until I got a great deal on a used stand dryer. |
