Oliver

Howie, Mark & I are lucky to have Oliver visit for the weekend! :clappurple:

Oliver is a wonderful 3 year old OES that was surrendered to a rescue is now being fostered in SW Ontario. Oliver is looking for a furever home. Fortunately several people are interested in him. So hopefully he will have a family to call his own real soon :crossed:

He is a big boy, that loves to snuggle, ride in cars, and play with toys. He is a dream. Oliver walks politely on leash.

We have only heard Oliver bark once, that was to let us know someone was at our gate. He is a gentle quiet guy.

Howie has had a great time playing with his new friend.

Good question! I guess Mark & I are thinking we will add a second dog down the road. We are renovating our home and I just can't see adding another large animal into the mix at this point.
As well our Howie needs to grow up a bit more (well a lot more)!

Oliver & Howie

It has been a fun filled weekend. :hearts:

oh but they look so cute together like best buds!!!
He would be hard to let go of. They look so cute together. I bet they had a lot of fun.

:hearts: :hearts:
Just to throw this out there....

We renovated our house 15 years ago. We added a partial second floor (2 bedrooms and a bath) and did something in each of the rooms on the first floor. People in and out daily, with strange noises for 3 months. We had 2 Sheepies and a Golden at the time. They all adapted beautifully. I think it helped having more than one at the time. It got to the point that the contractor would let the dogs out back during lunch - it gave them a break and the workers loved them. (I loved our contractor - she was awesome).
Oliver is a cutie

Ziggi and I would always to happy to discuss an adult dog coming to live with us in Ottawa?
:hearts: :hearts:

Oliver and Howie look like they had a great time! I'm with everyone else in saying yours should be Oliver's furever home! :potstir:
Yup, I think you should keep Oliver. Howie will be HEARTBROKEN :( :( to loose his new friend. Even with remodeling, which I too did with 2 dogs, things were fine and they had eachother. :D :D And you are waiting for Howie to grow up?!!!! 8O :!: 8O My Oliver is 9 1/2 AND STILL HASN'T GROWN UP!!!!!!  Good luck with that.
Oliver has gone to be neutered this morning, and back to his foster mom.

It was really hard to say good bye this morning. I was driving down the highway crying. Oliver is such a gentle goofball. :hearts: We'll miss him here.

Yay Oliver!! :high5: :hearts:
Hi everyone,
we are the new parents to Oliver (aka Ollie). He's found a new home in the west end of Toronto.
We currently have a 50lb. 12 1/2 year old female OES from Sandra Crowne Ladykins (Katie) and until recently, we had a male OES rescue dog (Taxi) who passed away just before his 14th birthday. In the last 6 months, we've been keeping our eyes out for a new OES.

When we heard about Ollie, we thought he would be great addition to the family AND HE IS!!!

He is a bouncing 95lb. goofball that is gentle for his size and loves to be hugged and played with. He has a gorgeous face a neat swath of black hair on his head (“cute”, “handsome” are what people say when they see him). When we got him, he had just been neutered and they had an e-collar on him as he had ripped out his stitches twice already. He was 95lb. bull in a China shop when he first showed up with the 2 1/2 ft. cone on his head hitting everything and knocking everything over, including Katie. Katie was not impressed (nor was she impressed in their first meeting when he tried to mount her) - but she has since addressed this and Ollie knows his rightful place in the doggie hierarchy. He now tries very hard not to knock her over or upset her and she has now accepted him as part of the family by giving him kisses.

He is adapting well to his new house and the area. Typical of sheepies, he has to be where the people are and where the action is. He is generally very good and only gets really excited when he sees other dogs and wants to play off leash. He still has puppy dispositions and has a short attention span. We are working on his training and have just enrolled him in obedience school. Once he learns to come consistently when he is called, we look forward to being able to take him to the leash free parks in the area. He loves exploring and has tried walking into the shops on main street and has even tried to hop onto the local bus when the door opened in front of him. He’s also a good runner. We’re also adapting well as we are not use to a sheepie as big as he is (especially when he wants to snuggle in bed) and one that can “step” into the SUV and bed without needing to jump. We are still working through some eating issues (he must have been a grazer in his former house).

Overall, he is a great, great dog and a great new member to the family!!!
