WHY I DO THIS!!!

Two days now...a little at a time, I brush, and brush and brush. Switch dogs cause SIMON will not hold still. I worked mostly on Gar yesterday. He is a dream to groom...sometimes.

I guess I'm just frustrated. I worked on Simon today and of course he will not hold still and He gets lots of mats because his hair is SO thick and like cotton candy. I really thought that if I didn't take a break, he would, and snap, and thats only after twenty minutes.

Yesterday I made an appt at the groomers for a wash and brush. Today I'm thinking maybe a shave down. It would be easier on them and on ME.

Cotton coat gets better as it gets longer and you remove undercoat. Not to say it still doesn't mat......it just looks better hiding the mess underneath. MO will have to be cut back. I've neglectied her tummy now have a mess. Rear legs are iffy too, I may just cut down legs and tummy making her more a BC than sheepdog until warmer weather for a full .......disclosure.

There are many grooming protects on the market to use ,if a show coat is not required; you could try a detangler /leave in contioner any make you perfur that you use on your own hair these are a lot cheaper;you can leave it in or work on a matt at a time, it does take time :-(
as for brush a pin bush or a bristle brush , tease the matt out ,if a bad matt cutting thought it ,this will leave legth

we were recemended to use on our dogs coat but we are showing; But they do work, "Coat Handler" it is from USA not sure which would be the best outlet to buy from for you "Google" it and lots of places will come up,

good luck I know what its like to have a dog with a thick cotton coat
