Girl With the Dragon Tattoo

Looks like we have some interest in continuing with our book club. I think we left off with thinking of reading The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo...

I have the book and did begin it...I will be busy next few weeks with some medical issues so not sure how quickly I will be able to finish it, but will jump into the discussion when I can...

I actually started that book this week myself. Maybe I will join in. :P
I have it requested at the library (done online from work) and it looks like they have many copies. I hope it's in and I can pick it up tomorrow!
that's the first book of the series? Stick with it, the first 100 or so pages...........argh! Then suddenly you find you can't put it down.
Yes, I heard the first hundred pages or so were sort of boring. I think that's because its alot fo Swedish names and locations, etc. I started to get interested before the hundre pages and am now getting into it...Keep plugging...that's what I'm told
I got this book and am reading it...but...when does it get so interesting? I am having a hard time getting through it...Too many names and relatives and people and history of families...I am continuing to read because I heard how great it is but...so far not happy with it at all
I am almost done, another chapter to go. I don't know if it is because the hype but I was expecting more. Well I haven't finished it yet so perhaps it will still blow my mind. Will know by tomorrow plan on taking a tea to bed and finishing it. Yeah Friday night!!
If you didn't need the background I'd say skip to the last book. Action doesn't come until then....though parts of book 2 had me cheering.
so the other two books continue the story?
It requires quite a lot of willpower to get thought the first 1/3 of the book. Too bad. If it weren't for the book club, I wouldn't have bothered.
I've finished the first and the 2nd books!
I liked them way better than I thought I would (not my usual reading). I didn't think the beginning was THAT tedious, it had enough redeeming moments I was not tempted to stop.
So here I am at work, finished the 2nd one this morning!
I guess I need to get online at the library website and get the 3rd one ASAP!
Dawn, wish I shared those feelings...I am STRUGGLING with the first book...About half way through but still struggling...too many names and nicknames and places and in general too many characters to keep track of! But, I am still reading, waiting to get to the great point everyone keeps talking about!
