Sam, I LOVE that you are asking on here about your homework!!

It has been way too long since I have been a student, so I am not a lot of help...but I have one thing to add.

The correct term for the era would be the "roaring 20's", not the "booming 20's". They actually mean pretty near the same thing, just "roaring" was the word used.
Sorry I'm not more help. :? :?
I'm embarrassed that I don't know more about Hoover as he was born not far from where I grew up in Iowa. I've even been to his birthplace and homestead! I'm not help though...

The Bonus Army is easy........In 1924 WWI vets were promied a bonus payment for their services during WWI. But the payment was not due intil 1945. The veterans were broke, Depression, they needed money NOW so they marched on Washington DC and set up camps all over the city. The government ordered them to leave, they didn't . So the government sent the Army in to bust up the camps.......the leader of this raid was General Douglas MacArthur, aided by Major Dwight Eisenhower and Major George Patton. Four calvary troop with draw sabers, an infantry column with fixed bayonets and tear gas bombs, six tanks were deployed against these veterans and their families. One person died from the tear gas, a small boy was bayoneted in the leg as he scrambled to save a pet rabbit. The camp was burned to the ground. This drew widspread criticism and reinforced the image of a heartless insenstive president......actually not at all true, but history doesn't remember all.

Roosevelt......Franklin? Not one of my favorite presidents, but he was the right man for the job with regard to WWII

WWI is pretty complicated. It was due to mounting militan nationalism in Europe.....something that continues again in the Balkans.....but we'll skip over that. The falling apart of the great empires in Europe allowed every group to declare their need for "freedom." So Europe was fracturing along ethnic lines once again. President Wilson wanted the US to remain neutral, but the US affinity for Britian and the sinking of the Lusitania raised the clamor for war in the US.
Thanks for that! I understand it much clearer now :)

We are doing about the `roaring 20s` and great depression,.(Hoover and FD roosevelt)

Ive never been any good at history and this topic is even harder than last years topic!! :high5: THANKYOU SO MUCH THE HELP!!!
Sam, to me history is a cakewalk as nothing changes. There are no formulas to remember none of this if you do this, this will happen; if you add this you'll get this. Everyone has already done all the work for you and you just have to remember everything. Math and science are not like history.

My strong subject was always English. I suck at math and would prefer someone else handle my calculations on nearly everything. Thankfully, the woman I married just happen to be an accountant 8)

Work on building your memory and read your texts and it will all work out.

And while I enjoy history, my DH consumes it. I went and asked him.
So maybe you should refer to him as SH...
