My little puppy is growing too fast!

 Oh my! Pru is 18 weeks old and is 46lbs! She is my growing girl! My hubby wanted a boy originally because they are "bigger"...lol...Pru is going to fill that need it seems. Trying to compare others to guesstimate her adult size...anyone else sheepies have similar size girlies at this age...and if so, where did they end up? Think we r gonna start a betting pool within the family...lol...
We love her size ...it makes us laugh everyday. I guess being our first OES..it's like a baby...you can read and think you "know" how fast they grow and their size, but you truly don't until you get to have and love your very own! :hearts: :hearts:

I agree. and it's like they grow when you're not looking. Or maybe it's that you're looking all the time, so it's not as noticeable. you just realize one day when you pick them up, HEY! this
dog is getting BIG! Or when they lay on your lap and you have a built in blanket instead of
a foot warmer

I do love me some comfy cozy dog though :-) But, staying small just a LITTLE bit longer
would be okay.....

I swear, I pick George up every day and just one day I had to change the way I picked him up because he's gotten too big and I was hurting him.

To look at him though I barely notice it  Just worried one of these days he's gonna succeed in jumping over the baby gate - he's already an escape artist, he escaped, grabbed my ugg boot and headed for the front door... wonder if he was headed for the park...

I know I'll miss the puppy stage when he's grown but I can't wait for him to grow up!!

anyway, I've realised I have a lap dog and soon enough he's gonna have some trouble getting on my lap :sidestep:

Find out how big her mum is, that should guide you. Mady is 73 pounds, 7-8 pounds smaller than her mum. Mady is quite athletic and doesn't carry extra weight (I know she looks a bit round, but that is just the big hair. I call her my Jersey Girl dog.) Virginia is around 80. I suspect the difference is because of Mady's early spay (oh how I regret that). Mady is taller as well, which I think is directly because of the early spay. Because Virginia had puppies so recently and just weaned them, I am curious as to whether her size will change, although she seems the same as she was in the summer when she visited.
I think Amber said her mom was around 90lbs...if I am remembering correctly. We knew she was going to be big, it is just so funny watching it happen! You don't realize what 90lbs means until your pup starts heading in that direction. It's going to be funny when she is full grown, as she thinks the couch is hers for the taking

Oooh...that reminds me, I gotta call Amber :D . I know we talked about all of that, so I gotta remind myself of when to plan for that. So much information when you first get them, followed by Pru arriving just before Thanksgiving ...I can't remember the specifics on the time frame. Glad you mentioned that! :D
Dahlia was about that size at 18 weeks. She was 20lbs at 8 weeks when we got her :excited:

I am not sure what she is today, but, at the beginning of December she was 70lbs at almost 1 year old. She still has a lot of filling out to in the next 6 months to a year.

She is tall----She hates the tape measure and gets crazy when I try to measure her, but, I think she is 26-27in tall.

Her mom is 75 lbs and her dad is 90lbs, so she will fit somewhere in there.
