possesive behavior

I have recently adopted an OES (1 week) and she has snapped at our other dog (8 year old Boxer) and my 4 year old daughter.... being possesive over me. Any help would be appreciated. Prior to the snap at may daughter last night she has been loving and protective of her. I am not ready to give up, but need some help!! Thanks.

Adopted? How old is the OES? Did you get it from a rescue? What is the dogs background? Do you know? We need more info from you and then I think you will get some helpful feedback :-)
Yes... I got her from rescue. She was an owner surrender. The rescue told me that she was dominant so I knew that going in. I was prepared for working things out with my older dog who is very social and not dominant but I am worried about my daughter....The behavior only happens when she is around me. She is becoming possesive and I need some advice about breaking that possession. She is a great dog...friendly (normaally) and I dont want to start any bad habits.

oops sorry... she is 6, has been in rescue for over a year...owners lost everything had to give her up. I really dont have much more info than that.
If you got her from an OES rescue I would want to talk to the foster family
See if they had issues. Dominant and possessive and 2 different things
If they had issues, how did they deal with them? Were they successful?

I'm sure others with lots of experience will pipe in...

Good luck :-)
did you get her from south fl rescue?
Yes I did get her from South Florida rescue. She was surrendered with a male named Drake. She has food bowl agression but the behavior she exhibited recently was possesive of ME. My daughter was loving on me when Daisey wanted the attention and she snapped.... same scenario when I was giving love to my boxer. I have gotten some advice from a trainer.... it seems to be working pretty well, but she is sad...she knows that she is in trouble and now she is gnawing on her arms. Stressful!!! but this is week one so hopefully with more training things will work out. She was obviously well trained previously because she is picking things up FAST. Please keep posting suggestions or if you know anything about the past of this dog please message me... She was the only female in South Floridas possession.
