is it too early??

Well time goes so fast, bloo is 9 months old and he will be one in March 2012!!
Ive posted before about when should i get him neutered, and ive taken the advice onboard about not doing it too early as it effects the growth. How far after he turns 1 year old should i leave it?? I dont want to make him into a girraffe :(
There is a dog up the park (mollY) Bloo seems to have taken a fancy to her, shes a rescue so they dont know if shes neutered or not, i am a bit worried incase bloo decides to you know it. I dont thnk he would but better stay safe lol :P
We arent breeding from him so i feel it would be better for him and us menatlly and health wise to get him done soon.

A lot of people are saying leave it until he is 18 months, a lot of people say 1 year 12 months)
I dont know, we are in no rush i just cant decide when to get him done. AND its picking the right time, as he would have to have a silly cone thing on and wouldnt be able to be walked for long a day I am dreading it!!! If bloo cannot be walked for 2 weeks after the house will be upside down!! :D

I havent a clue about dog neutering as bloos my 1st dog, we have 2 cats that have been neutered but dogs are different apparently :P
any opinions/views about male dog neutereing???? :lmt:

Hi :D

I would personally leave it until he is 18 months to 2 years. The OES are a slow maturing breed and therefore they need a little longer to grow and develop.

Having said that they are complete puppies until the last day. :D

What has your vet advised you or indeed have you asked your breeder? The breeder may be able to give a more concrete view.

:wag:
Yep you have the same idea as me.
Ive taken him to vets they checked him and said, they are still small but they are workable.
That indicated to me he isnt ready yet. (this was nov last year)
I think i will leave him a bit longer. OH YES"" puppys they are!! LOL :D :D :D

Sounds like a plan. Puppies they are - sometimes I sit and wonder where they get their tenth wind from!!

I have a friend who has just obtained her first puppy in a different breed and the vet is already telling her that she needs to get him neutered at six months old. I am totally against this and I believe the breeder would be as well. What a position to be in
